What excelsior does well is making the silence between each song, beautiful, on the other hand this record when the silence comes in it’s not as impactful, because the rest of the album sounds Jenkee, and like a collage more than actual music.
It’s awkward, uncomfortable, abrasive, and many more things. Those things that I just said about the record are negative right well not in this case. Slauson creates a beautiful yet strange but emotional record it’s something that I recommend to anyone trust me go listen to this you will not be disappointed.
The mixing is shit and a lot of it drags on but with that said this album has to be in the green because of the 8 minute extravaganza that is “Put It Down” and incredibly epic and emotional closer “Before The Throne Of The Invisible God”
I feel like every song looses momentum about at the halfway mark of every track, it’s fun at moments and disappointing at others. To give this a simplified review a one word description could be overrated
Haunting, harrowing, truly a great album to listen to on Christmas.
Easily one of the worst albums I’ve ever heard I normally try to stay away from music that is universally hated I just think listening to shit music knowing it would be shit is just a waste of my time but I felt obligated to listen to one of the worst albums of decade I wasn’t surprised of what I heard truly Revolting I’m sooooooooooo happy it’s over
How did I not hear this already. I head a lot about it I just blew it off until now and I was very pleased.
Glamorous soul flips, bars on top of bars, really something a “Hip-Hop Head” could dig into. I will say the singing on the record although there is very little is very shit but aside that a fantastic album
Solid concept, great production, solid vocals but I feel like the rapping is sometimes off key but there are exceptions like for example “Drunk*” is a great song lyrically and his delivery is on point.
