Music and art in general is subjective but most people will agree this is a really bad album with hilariously bad lyrics and production that has aged terribly and I would agree. However, I am struggling to remove my rose tinted view of childhood nostalgia from this. I have to admit that every time revisit this over the years, I always think a few things.

So firstly I absolutely love his voice. It might not have the power of someone like Jeff Buckley but Elliott's delivery is so emotional and at times you can feel his despair in his voice, it is kind of heartbreaking.
His songwriting is impeccable and really is one of the things I noticed with Elliott's songs in general.

Beautiful goodbye from one of the defining artists of the 20th century.
Highlights are I'm So Sorry and Friction on Imagine Dragon's most experimental album (which does not say much). Its decent for the most part and is most consistently decent than Night Visions even if the highs are lower than that of its predecessor.
Highlights are It's Time, Demons and On Top of the World
The second half is significantly worse than the first half. Hear Me and Underdog are bad especially Underdog. The first half is actually pretty good in my opinion. I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. Underdog was the only terrible thing on here.
