i really liked this one from him. changed his production up from the usual, which i like the new change. a lot of the tracks speaking on depression and substance use really stand out to me, as he’s being more vulnerable about that stuff. did feel like it was too surface level and he could’ve dug a bit deeper, but all in all a could record.
about what i expect from most droog albums, so i wasn’t disappointed: he had a couple songs that i absolutely am head over heels for (“I Think I Love Her” and “Grandmother’s Lessons” to name a couple) but for the most part it consists of some good solid songs, solid production, and a handful of forgettable songs. i truly think if he spent longer than a few months on an album it’d be a 10/10, but if he did that he wouldn’t be droog, would he?
some really fun tracks, but honestly less than i was expecting from a Dua Lipa album as a whole. i expected a lot more from her.
i’m sure this has its audience, but that’s not me. i was really bored listening to it, and thought she was trying too hard to be edgy at times. at one point i forgot i was listening to an album and started singing crank that by soulja boy, which was more interesting to me than most of the record
