- thematically these songs are all so great together
- each song works well as a stand alone
- the clean guitar sound for cotton is so good
- the album doesn’t leave you with any doubt on its themes and messages and i like how he’s so clear and intentional
it’s a fun album but i feel like i was mislead by the marketing i saw on instagram that this album would be more critical of men and the patriarchy than it actually was
some of the songs sound really goofy
i do love the grimy low sound of the bass when you can basically hear the strings slapping the fret board
a lot of the songs have good melodies
Thank god it’s an EP because these tracks all sound very similar. All the songs feel very long and the drums sound the same for every one
the songs can end up being quite similar and are occasionally broken up by songs that are more unique
it was a nice album to listen to on a train though
These songs have a very peaceful and secluded atmosphere to them which makes me feel like I’m riding through the countryside on a steam train!!
I went into this sort of unsure of how I'd feel about it but overall I enjoyed it more than I thought I would :D
Look, I know this is my boyfriend, so there is going to be some bias to this but I genuinely think this is an amazing album.
I've been lucky enough to watch and listen to his thought process whilst making the album and it's been a very moving experience. Seeing the way he writes his lyrics: making the personal enough to understand what he's going through whilst also allowing them to be applicable to other people and their situations.
