if you asked me about maisie peter's sophomore album The Good Witch, i would say "yeah it's pretty good," but if you asked me on a deeper level, i would tell you that this is the only piece of girly, petty break-up pop that i have ever enjoyed this much.

Preacher's Daughter is a masterclass in every single of its aspects. the production is crazy. most of the album follows a sort of slowcore, indie rock genre, with brilliant work done on them, which only makes it more praise-worthy when hayden drops an almost 10-minute long country song ("Thoroughfare") that not only includes some of the best storytelling i've ever heard in a song, but also a heavenly backtrack. same goes ... read more
i don't think any sophomore album in history can come close to the masterpiece that Ceremonials is. i would struggle if i were to be asked to find something about this album. every single one of the songs here is a work of art, and the grandness of their sound, the ornate melody, the way welch absolutely owns the baroque pop genre throughout the 15 tracks all make it clear that this belongs in a museum.
