This is one of the most emotionally impactful albums I have ever listened to. Its rough around the edges, it's full of pain, and it's downright disturbing.
The worst part about it all - it's relatable. Incredibly relatable.
It has some excellent production, though some of the songs are mind numbingly repetitive. It's still enjoyable throughout, just very repetitive after a while.
Thriller is one of the most iconic and popular albums of all time, and for good reason. All the instrumentals are fantastic, the songwriting is great, and unsurprisingly, Michael's vocals are stellar
It's a pretty neat Memphis rap album, my only complaint is it has this weird dry sound throughout that makes it feel kinda awkward. Still a very enjoyable and fun album that makes me want to commit felonies
While it's kinda neat, it's the same exact spoken word passage read over 5 times. Is the spoken word passage cool? Yeah, but not cool enough to warrant any higher score.
This album is just every single genre compacted into a 50 song collection. Somehow, despite being all different genres and moods, Lil Ugly Mane makes it flow together smoothly and cohesively. He keeps your attention the entire time with each genre switch and complete tone change, making it impossible to get bored while listening.
Horribly let down by this project. While it's not abysmal or anything, it's really lame for Ugly Mane standards. It's repetitive, uninteresting, and gets tiring very quickly. The only part that really stood out was the last 2 minutes.
A really neat single with a very reflective tone :)
This is incredibly hit or miss. Some songs feel like Playaz Circle outtakes, as if the songs on the actual mixtape weren't bad enough, and others are really fun and enjoyable. The bad outweighs the good, but there is some good here.
This album is almost impossible to fit into just one genre, it feels all over the place in the best way possible. Many of the songs are very melancholic while others feel more bitter and resentful.
This albums is bizarre even for Death Grips standards. It's also shockingly quiet. It combined a lot of genres and overall sounds dingy and damp. Despite that last part sounding bad, it actually works in this album's favor, as it makes it extremely offputting with an odd and uncomfortable aura.
Uneven Compromise is a really odd EP. The first half has a gritty, dark sound with violent lyrics. Then there's a little interlude thingy. Then the second half has a more introspective feel, with Lyle Ugleman rapping about his friend's heroin addiction and how he killed his own children. It's a dark song but a great one :)
Mista Thug Isolation has some really cool beats with creative sampling, and a lot of the rapping performances are really fun to listen to, with clever wordplay and decent flows. Occasionally, Ugly Mane's lyrics feel a bit dry or he doesn't fit well on the beat, but it's mostly a great project :)
This album is extremely gross, but not in a bad way. The production feels grimy and trashy and the vocal performances are extremely angry and hateful. Somehow Ugly Mane manages to turn both of those things that would typically be negatives into positives on this project.
This is really something else. I don't even know where to start. The production is actually kinda neat on some songs but Jesus Christ the vocals are laughably bad on most of them. However there are some decent moments throughout. Still its a very bizarre mixtape.
Overall a pretty chill and interesting collection of beats. Some tracks are a little boring or unnecessary but overall still pretty enjoyable. Side One was my favorite :)
The Money Store is a revolutionary album that completely changed the entire Industrial Hip-hop genre, as well as having a huge effect on my music taste. This was not only one of the first albums I distinctly remember listening to, as well as the one that really made me fall in love with hip-hop as a whole.
Government Plates is a really neat album. On one hand, it's atmospheric and very production heavy, on the other hand, Ride being absent throughout a good bit of it makes it awkward, and many of the songs are kinda repetitive. Still a good listen tho.
