I guess The Strokes was trying new things to bring on their new album at the time, but theres something that doesnt add up here. A good thing about this is that the production is actually good, however the riffs and Julian's vocals dont hit as harder as they used to be, and the slower songs are very dull. It turned out that my ratings on these last 3 album are consecutive numbers (79-80-81) and thats kinda funny, so I guess they all are equally good.
But WELL about the album itself, Angles is a nice follow-up from their previous album with a more colorful and cheerful sound (that matches perfectly with the album cover), along with great vocal performances from Julian. So yeah this album is pretty much a sudden change from their raw sound to a more polished and clean production, and hey I think it was really necessary for them to do this switch-up.

Room on Fire is a pretty great follow-up to the band's incredible debut 'Is This It'. They still kept the raw and punchy sound but I think it isnt as effective as it used to be.
