Man I don't know how I used to not like this album... This thing is absolutely amazing. Every song is a masterpiece, the entire album is more of a grower.
It definitely needs some time to grow on you but once it does you won't be able to stop listening.
So experimental and unique for it's time. Even to this day, there is some pretty raw and weird shit on this album while at the same time having some of the most pretty and comforting songs I ever listened to.

Dont expect these songs to blow your mind, but if you're here just to have some fun, there's plenty to love. Knight Of The Wind, I Am All of Me, All Hail Shadow, Never Turn Back, What I'm Made Of, Live and Learn, Open Your Heart are iconic and incredibly fun Sonic songs. Tho not everything on here is all that interesting or aged the best. Playing the games will change your mind on some of the tracks
On Cavalcade we see black midi pushing their math rock sound forward, combining it with more jazz and avant-prog influences.
Cavalcade is a nice mix of both old (Schlagenheim) and new (hellfire) black midi. A lot of people view it as a transitional album and because of that it kind of gets dismissed when people talk about the band, but don't let that fool you, Cavalcade is still one of the most impressive avant-prog albums of the 2020s.

Watershed was for a long time the last metal Opeth record. Following up the record as amazing as Ghost Reveries is no easy task, especially considering the lineup change. But I'm glad to say that this record holds up.
We can see that the band is moving even closer towards the prog rock, but that doesn't mean that the metal influences aren't there. Mikaels vocals are as amazing as ever, the gutturals might even be deeper than ever.

Really fun and catchy j-rock. No pushing the boundaries here but the musicianship is top notch with great drumming, insanely groovy and sometimes kinda funky bass lines and amazing lead guitar work. Vocals are maybe kind of generic but they make up for it with solid melodies. Production is pretty decent as well, love how loud the bass and drums are. Overall solid soundtrack for a great show.
