Unlike what many people say, I don't think this album is a flawless masterpiece. However, I will say that it is VERY good. It took me a long time to fully gel with this album, despite knowing from first listen that objectively this is a very good project showing technical prowess and artistic vision.

SWANS DISCOGRAPHY RE-RUN, PART 3

Young God is everything I wanted Cop to be. Brutal, sludgy and horrifying no-wave. Length was also perfect, not sure if I could handle much more than the 20ish minute run time.

Uglier, angrier and sludgier than Filth, Cop is probably Swans' most aggressive project. I have one major complaint - it all sounds the same. Don't get me wrong, the one sound the album has is amazing and unlike anything else out there, but it feels samey nonetheless.

Best tracks: Half-Life, Cop

SWANS DISCOGRAPHY RE-RUN, PART 1

Sludgy, aggressive and defiant. Beautiful in its own horrific way. No idea how people would've felt when this dropped in 1983.

Best tracks: Stay Here, Weakling
