tldr: a million random sounds assault your neurotransmitters in the most fun project of 2019
im kinda amazed at how easy it is to easy it is to love this album. i never really liked veteran that much. there were some amazing moments on that album but peggy just came off as pretentious and too ambitious for his own good on it. on amhac peggy pretty much improves on everything that i didn't like about veteran: the harsh and abrasive nature of his songs, the incredibly fast pace that he goes at, ... read more

every few years we get a folk album that really captivates us and makes us think about ourselves. its deeply personal, yet strikes a chord within most of us that feels intimate and soothing. i like to call it the "for emma, forever ago" effect. its like a warm hug in the winter ... read more
tldr: purple mountains is like curling up next to your fireplace in the winter with a nice warm blanket, hot chocolate, and crushing suicidal thoughts
ok so ive never done an in depth rating of something before so please bare with me cause this is just bs off the top of my head. purple mountains self titled is one of the most interesting and dichotomous albums i've ever heard. it's a soundtrack to self loathing. the varied and beautiful instrumental palette compliment berman's dark and ... read more
