Ice Spice - Y2K!
16

I listened to this on Youtube to not tarnish my Spotify listen history.

Poopy has got to be one of the worst slangs ever because 3 of these tracks have them.

RIOT has one good beat and it's Did It First but dear god it's with Ice Spice and Central Cee. I wish I could tell you what the rest sound like but I couldn't.

Felt nothing but dread and sadness listening to this.

Drill is getting fucked hard in the worst way. It sounds tired.

Ice Spice is bored and boring.

christtt - deep dark trench

What?

The Chris Chan cover art is crazy, I don't think anybody else has a cover from a lolcow like this or from someone of this nature that I've known. The funniest thing is that this was supposed to represent 1 tragedy, not 2.

(An actual review starts here so if you want to read or skim then idk it's right here)

I essentially summed up this album in one word. "What?" is my reaction throwing this on at 5:45 AM playing BTD6.

The big concept I kept seeing almost ... read more

Denzel Curry - King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2
79

I don't understand how this dude doesn't miss in terms of quality.

Fuck Zilla we ride with Denzel ong.

This is such a strange sequel to do for a mixtape he did back in 2012. That being said, fuck I'll take it. This dirty Memphis South style has been needing some refreshing tracks due to the shitty problems Freddie Dredd brought to the table and the last good era being in 2012 leaving this genre in the dust afterward. Seeing the cover shows how mean this project is going to ... read more

EKKSTACY - misery
54

You pick up the energy in exchange for unremarkable writing.

There are some great energy tracks on this project like I just want to hide my face that situates probably the best aspect of Ekkstacy in one track. If only he could keep that streak going because a huge chunk of this tracklist dies after starting the project off with something as energetic as that track.

You get ausgang which is a miserable listen. I already wrote that acoustic tracks are a huge issue for Ekkstacy and ausgang is a ... read more

EKKSTACY - NEGATIVE
49

If mid was an artist.

That doesn't mean bad to be fair, like Ekkstacy's music is serviceable in every way and even unique at points. I think that comes up in his later albums where he actually puts in energy though because this album is his weakest in my camp.

i walk this earth all by myself serves as a song while the rest of the project is entirely forgettable. I never hated any of these songs, only getting mildly disappointed when the acoustics come in. For whatever reason, ... read more

Camila Cabello - C,XOXO
25

How the fuck does Drake get a goddamn single on this album?

I cannot understand where Camila is heading. This is one of the worst popular artist's shifts into another lane I've seen. She almost seems lost on what else to make now because Latin Pop bored her apparently since she dropped this. It meshes genres in their most boring forms and I think that's the craziest thing I can applaud her on because holy shit that's a skill.

Just about everything in this project is ... read more

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
90

You gotta let the music speak.

And what it speaks is of filth and hatred for an album that replicates a sort of dehumanization in a fairly similar vein to The Downward Spiral but remains tell-tale to its sound of disgust and pure unbridled hate.

Each song has similar sounds sonically, and that's why it fucking rocks.

The imagery of each track couldn't be described any other way besides one word. Gross.

There isn't much to say outside of throwing this shit on working out, in ... read more

Explosions in the Sky - The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place
76

I exploded in the sky alright.

It was like BOOOOMMMMMMMMM everywhere.

Explo. ded. Ahaaaa.

The Earth isn't Cold anymore. It's a firey ball of explosion! It's still dead...yeah it's still dead BUTTTTT it's not cold.

That's all I gotta say because it's the most post-rock that post-rock can get. You can splat this as the pinnacle of what the genre is because it does just about everything in the book.

You don't even need to describe it for the genre. ... read more

$uicideboy$ - New World Depression

I gave this project a fair shot.

And I mean I listened to it 14 times in a row to see if I liked it.

Then let it sit for 4 days to marinate with more listens while I was writing my TV Girl review.

I truly gave it a shot.

Okay, enough suspense. I liked the project.

OH MY GOD. I LIKED A $B PROJECT, THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE.

No, but seriously. This project has finally touched upon the issues I have had with $uicideboy$ for their entire discography and their massive issue with consistency. ... read more

TV Girl - French Exit

Oh, thank god the French are exiting...from a TV?

My computer got rid of the notes I was making on this so now I have to start from scratch :/

~TV Girl intro~

The hype of the indie pop/psyche decade, TV Girl. Hailed as one of the plaques in the psychedelic/indie bedroom pop sounds of the 2010s that revolutionized a good chunk of the sound.

Self-written, self-produced, no label.

They dropped a good chunk of music before their insane blow-up which will be said. They wove the sounds of this ... read more

It feels like the annoying little brother whined to his mom that his big brother was making music and he wasn't on it.

That little brother is Beno.

I truly think this mf Beno had Meechie sign the most disgusting contract of having one verse on each song and that was all he could do. Signed in blood and everything.

I'd pay money to see Beno dropped.

I'd also pay money to see Meechie dropped.

Ooohhhh so that's where that House M.D. opening came from.

Hmmm Foreman, shoot the patient up with .5 grams of Fentanyl for their Lupus.

Anyways, I got sick. Been up and in bed for the past 3 days with nearly 0 chances of sitting through an album let alone listening to music. My attention span died, my headache crushed the rest of it, and I was with my head on my desk 99% of the time.

Today though...I was itching for a project to hop into. There were several options in doom metal from Uncle ... read more

SpaceGhostPurrp - NASA: The Mixtape
59

I cannot stand Purrp's fuckin rapping.

To be fair, it has this amateurish quality that gives it this charm throughout most of these tracks and it has that era for people that truly fucked with it from 2010-2012, but besides a little bit later, that's just about how much credit I can give it.

Production carries a ton of this project heavy. FRIDAY (STRIP CLUB) and FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY (WAVY) have these sexy "low-quality" sounding beats that feel like a freestyle from Purrp like he ... read more

Smokedope2016 is a new era of cloud rap that I cannot stop repeating. It reminds me of the early mixtape A$AP Rocky mixed with a Black Kray on a truly faded production style. It's the Black Ops 2 nostalgia genre because this dude's style is reminding of the ... read more

At least one of the Smiths is doing something right.

Willow Smith. Honestly, I didn't have too many expectations from them when they first popped up to get into music. It sorta did stem from the fact they come from the background of Will and Jada Smith, but it's also because there aren't too many good musicians that come out of that sort of background period. When was the last time you knew a celebrity child came out to produce music that is good and full of soul? None? At least that's what I ... read more

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT

Askin em to hit them hard and soft, you can only choose one bucko.

Let me get into the meat of this without the joking comments. Billie Iris, the established newest pop singer on the block has her 3rd album talking and produced the best out of her entire catalog thus far. I wanna go as far as to admit that this might be one of her best albums that she's probably gonna make for a good long while.

Well, I wanna explain why first.

Give me one quick portion of this review to give this project the few credits it actually has.

"@Burst644 I can't get past his voice personally, it's a weird gravel tone that I don't find pleasant. And I don't find his revolutionary songs like Empire State Of Mind to be what everybody thinks is perfect. I do have very strange opinions though so take my stuff with a grain of salt since I'm 1 guy who thinks that :3"

On Matt Watson - SEE YOU THERE
"It's a difference in views, personally I cannot because the back of my mind constantly likes reminding me about what the creator as done. It just sours the experience that makes it unfair for bias. I could just like not like Rihanna but she hasn't really done anything, but these guys have a literal case of neglect of sexual assault, there's a difference. Just wouldn't be fair for a rating for me as well as other people are currently mass rating it low scores since the incident too, not that I agree with that so I'm just not gonna put a rating xd"
On Fog Lake - midnight society
"You aren't, I liked the demo better but the one on the album grew on me too so I like both versions. Things is, one is on Spotify and another is on YT, guess which one I'm more bound to listen to :(("
