Flat 50.
Concrete Boys has a collective of 5 people, 4 of whom are newly signed under sir psychedelic rock himself.
That in itself gave this project some interest but to hear it was also produced with jazz influence, I wanted to hear how Lil Yachty and said gang would do. It's boring if I had to sum it up.
Lengthier version is that there are a lot of problems. First, that Need 2 Pinegrove sample is not a good use for a beat like they did it. I'm not gonna go into the "you shouldn't use ... read more
Man, I do not like this album.
I was scrolling through and I might just be the only review so far from what I see that has to admit that it does not click. This project is 35 minutes but feels like an hour and 35 minutes. I don't know what they did that makes me dislike the direction they headed with this project, but man a majority of these songs are slogs to listen to.
Before I get into criticizing this album, I give it 2 great tracks that even my dumbass likes, Play for Today and A Forest. ... read more
The Cure's debut.
From 1979, holy shit these mfs are old. I will admit that a good chunk of old music is not my strong suit in terms of taste. I can stomach around 80's-90's music pretty good, usually more underground in that era, but something like this that comes in the form of punk from the near 70's-80's just rides off me like water tryna cling to you when you have baby oil on. It just slips straight through me and I cannot grasp the sound as I would like.
I will admit though that this is ... read more
Oh my God dude.
Delete this shit NOW. This is horrid, this is the worst Cole project PERIOD. None of these tracks are at any point memorable, fun, or sound like they absolutely fucking rocked "L drick's" world.
Most of these tracks are mediocre at best and laughably bad at worse. I will commend that this dude can still put his flow skill to use but bro, don't rush in after a week and drop this. You look like a clown.
Kendrick made this man drop the worst thing he's done with just ... read more
I thought we left this in 2015. It's like I'm gonna see both Trippie's and MGK's pfps on their socials turn into an emo sad boy anime pfp with VHS and a black bar over their eyes straight from Discord.

I found Camila more soulless but listenable than Carti.

Lil Yachty havin ah. "Let's Start Here" lookin ah.
This is probably the strangest release for both artists so far. Well, Lean has jonatan leandoer96 which is more akin to the singing nature but Bladee is in a bit of some unfamiliar territory from how this is executed. Like an alt-rock/punk LP? These mfs are the people who revolutionized the cloud rap underground and they're creating this? Well, I'm gonna admit it's pretty good.
These two are Swedish as SHIT on this project. You can ... read more
What an absolutely disgusting debut.
You get punched immediately when going in with the intense BPM kicks and then the rugged distorted guitar. (Sic) truly blends this world for the rest of the album amazingly because "HERE COMES THE PAIN!" is a cool ass introduction. Then Corey comes in with this hatred and gravel in his vocals that fits the production great. The drums sound dry as a desert with record scratches littering the track. It was possibly the darkest and heaviest nu-metal ... read more
Coming off listening to Boohoo, this sounds so much better.
It sounds fun to listen to with things like NO SCOPE having character. X-Ray is more of a pop banger that is chill as shit to listen to. Vexed is the most lyrical track from this project and it's lively and full of personality.

I listened to New Age Crisis and then got shot by fucking Spanish on Divino Desmadre, what the shit?
Also not a fan of this "big is better" route of production because it's way too big and bold, delusional world champion sounds way better than all 3 of these songs combined and it's more simplistic in sound.

Okay, I'm insanely biased.
Look, Fog Lake is my top artist on stats.fm, there's no sense of denying the bias I have for something like this project and HIS SOUND. Dear lord, it scratches my brain's itch like the plague. The lo-fi DIY nature of all of Fog's projects is always a treat, and he switches the sound up a good chunk of the time to make something beautiful every instance that I fall into an addiction every couple of months. I believe this is my favorite project of any of his for good ... read more
This thing made me speechless.
Screaming, screeching, and drowned out by layers and walls of black noise but comes out leaving you speechless from how impactful and violent it was emotionally.

Flatbush is NOT better off dead.
This is such a strange project in being a weird mix of cloudy trap production but having points of boom-bap. There is a lot of drug/horrorcore rap with hallucinogens, alcohol, weed, etc etc but they somehow mix it with skilled rapping on so many different tracks on this project. That is to say, this grimy-ass project slaps.
The trio has one thing to make a group good: A unique style between the 3 of them. Meechy has this gruff rough tone to his voice where his ... read more

Blue Lips is a ScHoolboy project that he kinda needed, especially after leaving a 5 years hiatus with CrasHtalk as his last project. Considering CrasHtalk was pretty bad, definitely comparative to his other albums such as Oxymoron and Blank Face LP. That is to say, I might just not be a ScHoolboy Q fan.

I wish I could switch album covers.
This project is such a bubblegum beauty, but the cover is so cringe and of its period that I feel like I couldn't show people this album because whoever made the graphic design needs to be fired. I'll be clowned by whoever I show this to if they don't know Imogen Heap.
Without the cover being the focal criticism, this project is produced so fully for what feels like a more minimal project. All the instruments and vocals Imogen has this unique timbre with ... read more
What newfound appreciation for this project.
So, this project was a bucket list project back in 2021 when I first listened to it. I threw it on...and hated it, I thought the instrumental was being wasted over wretched nonsensical screaming that just drilled screws into my ears. I had a biased dislike for this project ever since when I was going through Midwest emo and other projects involving louder and even more brash instrumentation and out-of-the-scene shit that few can get into. This seems ... read more
