Sewer isn't slvting no moe.
Instead, it's Cynthoni. With a more I guess "happier" project from when they retired the Sewerslvt name. When listening to this album, we came to expect some nice DnB, and I'll say it's pretty decent. Being out of the game for around 4 years and well, controversy galore and depression to the upmost maximum, I am surprised they even came back period. Coming back after allat and releasing something decent is an accomplishment.
Whatever the controversies ... read more
I SWEAR this is not bias.
Coming from volume 2, I decided to listen to volume 1 because I mainly heard mixtape 2 and 3 from Snow Strippers and that was it.
I'm gonna flat out admit, I enjoy just about every track from this project. I wasn't expecting to if I had to be honest. I thought it was gonna be alright due to vol. 2's massive disappointment in my ears but vol. 1 does everything better. They fuck. Literally. This is just great electro music I wanted to hear compared to vol. 2's. I ... read more
They definitely created this project high.
Let me put it bluntly, this project is weak. It seems more of a mish-mash of tracks they cooked up for an EP. It's not entirely disappointing due to some of these tracks giving personality like So What If I'm a Freak and Back n Forth. They spice up the dull opening of Chained Up.
That is the single most telling track of this entire EP though, Chained Up does not set you up to put on a Snow Strippers album like the rest of their projects. It feels ... read more
Lucy is not Amy, but Amy is Lucy?
We get more twinkly and fluffy Lucy production on this short lil EP from them and it's still as great as their more chaotic predecessor SISTERHOOD. I loved the chaotic nature of SISTERHOOD greatly due to just it being something to shake your head with bangers. Amy is the cottagecore edition, giving 3 tracks that feel like they came straight from an Animal Crossing game in the summer. Just relaxation with Lucy's vocals remaining the same. Yet they sound so ... read more
The microphone is probably drenched in saliva and phlegm after every recording.
Oh my god, thank you Knocked Loose, thank you for giving something of worth in the metalcore genre since Converge's big gaping hole in the genre for years. It took some crafting, 2 LP's and 4 EP's of gradual sound shifting that got better over time, but you crafted something damn near gut-wrenching and disgusting to give me the most shit-eating grin of all time.
A Tear in the Fabric of Life was the precursor of ... read more
Drake has been bitched by 2 people completely, it's not a lot but it's weird that it has happened twice.
I click the first song and I get "Wake up F1LTHY"
My brain broke at hearing that cuz what the hell is this Swede doing after Psykos? The fuck?
Rage?? You went from alt-rock to rage? Bladee might be drain gangs biggest experimental artist at this point. Another thing is that this shit is 30 goddamn songs, I guess going fairly silent album-wise for 2 years and doing some features made the Slenderman appear again.
Yung Lean thought he was done with his job but Bladee put on some cat ... read more
Dr predicted "the incident"
Also known as MLG coming to the rise in 2010's like pshh, nothing else was predicted.
Anyways, from my joke review for The Chronic, I will give a more serious one for 2001. This album is a fucking masterpiece and a shitshow at the same damn time. I seriously wish it wasn't the latter.
Lemme explain, this project has the best flows, the best beats, the best lyrics, the best features, best in a ton of ways to the Chronic, but it's rated lower. Why is ... read more
You know, Dr. Dre really isn't a Dr. if he has something labeled "the chronic"
Like ain't you a Doctor Mr. Dre? You supposed to cure some razzle dazzle infections but nooooo you had sex in the office instead. When I came in, he told me to get the fuck out before threatening to shoot me with "Seventeen shells"???
Anyways, labeling something the Chronic and having it last for a good period of 30 years already is genius. Great ass move. (Some of the latter half is skippable ... read more
Quadrant broke his audio equipment and decided to record it muffled.
I don't know which other album made me turn off a project so quickly to just replay a song such as this album with DUSTCUTTER. I could not stop replaying it that I forgot to listen to the album for an entire 2 months. Just today I finally went back to give it the time it genuinely deserves cuz taking 3 songs from it and turning it off was kinda a dickish move during that time when it was released.
Then again, I listened to ... read more
Good Kid needs to be a Good Adult somewhere down the line.
Considering even while they SOUND like they're experimenting slightly in some parts, they feel absolutely the same since EP 1. Bubbly added a goddamn "solo" and I just sighed instead of cheered from hearing something different. They would've definitely added something like this before and they probably have, it just blends so much that I didn't even realize it.
I think these guys are genuinely good-natured, they sound like ... read more
We're gonna get a Good Kid 56 in 2074 baby!
What is happening to these guys?
The more you go down the line of when they released their EP's, the 1st feels the most lively with how they sound and get their earworm kick to the skull. It makes you wanna repeat their songs over and over again with pure white boy fun.
Now it's the 3rd and is starting to just feel dull and slowly kicking the bucket in what they can come up with in the same sound. The first and second Good Kid EP's are possibly the ... read more
We got Super Freak from Machine Girl, it's alright.
We haven't gotten a Machine Girl anything since like 2020 from my knowledge, and finally, after 4 years, we get 3 songs in a freak EP..damn bruh give us at least a little bit more tracks to celebrate the overstim ADHD typa music from y'all.
That point aside, it's kinda cool. The first 2 songs are tried and true sexy Machine Girl songs that are acidic yet lucid. It's chaotic but it's Machine Girl, you can pick up on their idea of what the ... read more
How does pitching and changing the speed of a warbling sheet metal give me more unironic enjoyment than the unspeakable eldritch horrors of Mission Gulp Kum & Tripping D
Damian needs to chill
There are very few times where I can listen to demo four, fuck it, the entire demo series. I'm surprised he left these as demos because dear lord these are fucking amazing. I could rate all five high ratings (maybe not 1) due to their complex nature that just doesn't even feel like demos. These tracks feel complete, albeit sound like they got corrupted in the mix; but I believe that adds to its charm. It's noisy, you can hear screaming and possibly even crying, and the ... read more
Life sucks so hard for some citizens.
And mine sucks because I had to dwell on this project for 30 minutes. I do not know what it is, but the songs on this project are just the same tone, vocals, lyrics, and everything, bro. I couldn't get past the vocals where they feel pushed right in front of your face and the same whiny commitment. I think the only track that works with about everything clicking into place is How Does It Feel? It has this great tone where it delves its feet into a bit more ... read more
This dude was 12????
Are you shitting me? It doesn't seem ENTIRELY impressive, more so akin to the natural state of Lo-Fi Indie sad boi stuff you would go to for like Liam McKay with all his releases that are probably a bit better than this on the surface. The thing is, THIS MF WAS SUPPOSEDLY 12 WHEN STARTING THIS PROJECT??? Bio says 12 at the start, this project was a year later, give or take 2, so he was either 13-14 when he made this. What the fuck bruh.
Bro was sad before sad was invented ... read more
This project loses itself after the first song.
This seriously felt long for only 5 songs. I enjoyed Build a good amount due to the dreamy yet sinister nature it was going for. The female vocalist did blend well into the dreamscape that was built, but the rest fell short after that. It was just back-to-back snoozers of the same grandness of the first track but done in a way that doesn't feel as special as the opener. I entirely forgot how the closer went due to the unremarkability factor.
It ... read more
This EP is sexy.
I don't know how a majority of Japanese shoegaze get their sound but it just sounds so twinkly and feathery. Immediately putting on track one you get introduced to this sexy riff with the heavenly distortion in the back, and then the vocalists layer themselves over each other whilst it plays. I cannot get enough of it.
I can admit though this project slowly dips toward spirits of the dead's bad dream where it doesn't offer much of a note towards that point. It's a very ... read more
Well, the debut wasn't my favorite.
I was able to give myself a shot in terms of getting some songs outta these that I would listen to in my free time, but dear god this album's run time could be cut straight in half from how long some of these instrumentals just go ON.
They're great songs when they start and Isaac gives his vocals. It truly feels like a garage band making songs with their buds during the moment for its time. Dramamine is the highlight and the best intro to set the tone of ... read more
