This might be an unpopular opinion but I think this is Kanye's most consistent project. (this does not mean "BEST")
Some albums are funny bad but this one's just impossible to listen... "Soul Train" will forever be played at the function.
Daft Punk is a difficult listen for those unfamiliar with their projects. Although some of these songs have become some of the most recognizable electronic tracks, this album is a harsh listen to the ones that are used to "Discovery". You can't produce a record in 6 weeks and exceed the success of both previous records.
If we weren’t talking about Daft Punk this album would most definitely be leapfrogging “Discovery”. This was the duo’s ARTIST ALBUM and it’s just fantastic.
Although my opinions on Swams as artists haven't shifted a bunch after giving this record a listen, I strangely feel far more pleased when comparing it to my feelings after hearing "The Seer" for the first time.
Great listen but unfortunately I don't the band's artistic prowess will ever be topped.
Edit (76 -> 79): Just saw them live and WoW I'm extremely impressed by the performance.
Great! Can't give it more than 80 for creating one of the most unoriginal songs to play on the acoustic.
Although other albums by The Strokes do in fact feel stronger, I don't feel like I've heard anything from them as consistently pleasing. A great project, give it a listen.
Edit: "Is this it" is more consistent, but the rating stays.
In the golden age of alternative rock, "Grace" steamrolls over most similar projects of the time. Truly one of the great '90s albums, just a shame we couldn't get to hear much more. RIP
Edit (93 -> 97): It keeps on getting better and better.
Edit (97-> 100): I continued to try and find reasons on how I could give this album a perfect score and all I simply had to do was to listen to it a couple more times. Here's to my first 100/100, Jeff Buckley's "Grace".
