The first song was really solid, but after that.. what happened? At least 'Filth' had the decency to at least try to entertain me, even if the harsh noise was not really my flavour, but I could respect it for at least trying. 'Cop' on the other hand, is a total snoozefest. Nothing ever interesting happens, and most of the songs just fizzle out without ever trying anything. I liked Gira's vocals here more, though!
Swan's debut album 'Filth' is an empty scream into the void. Their raw approach just ended up being grading in my ears. There certainly are some cool ideas here, especially on songs like 'Power for Power' but they got buried under a wall of indistinguishable noise. What shocked me the most though, is how I much I despised Giras voice on this Project. His vocals sound flat and dull, almost comical at times. One thing I want to make very clear from the beginning is that I’m talking exclusively about the 2017 remaster of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳. I’ve heard the Original, but my experience with the old one is so bare that it might as well not exist in the first place.
