Wrong on multiple levels but not on a capitalistic one, let's go! Let's turn music into cryptocurrency
I don't see a lot more than an identity crysis in here.
I'm her peer and I get it, it's an age in which you don't know where you want to go neither where you are, add living during a time of surreal uncertainty, but the job of an artist would be one of synthesis, putting everybody's concerns into a consumable and digestible format, trying to make sense of the mess in a young mind. Or, atleast, approaching the subject with a new point of view. (See Charli XCX, see Little Simz, see Billie ... read more
An unbelievably lucid and endearing portrait of the mind of an incredibly good sounding thinker.
First of all, and most obvious of all, Laura Marling is amazing. Her voice is really wonderful, from her tone, to her balance, to her timbre.
Her delivery is of such caliber: every word gains a great specific weight, which, in the laconic sentences she chose to go for in the writing of this project, add up to deep and thought provoking sentences, hooking your brain right off the start, in the first couple lines, with a "It took one god seven days to go insane" that is striking and ... read more
The vocal performances are the highlight to this maybe too long, maybe too one sided, project.
Yes, trademark production and all, interesting sounds and ideas.
Yes, lyrics are getting denser, the themes she tackles are crucial and a young woman should always be heard.
The journey is tiring though. The pacing is kinda like walking in front and having a friend behind who walks really slowly and you want him/her to keep up but he/she doesn't because he/she is lazy.

How can Anderson .Paak contain all that fucking style drip character swag?!?! Like isn't he slippery or something?
Subtract his drum work and this is a regular song.
Also I love how respectfully they're trying to hit it. Leaving the door open, letting them know that if they need a man they are waiting. Smooth.
Kind of disappointing. Vibe check passed, as always, but the project feels stale and too lowkey.
I completely forgot every song and I don't feel like I gained something or like I quite enjoyed the experience.
I mean it's not like you expect a concept album from him, but this was too laid back, almost effortless, not in a good way.
Dude that stick should not be up there that long. Your voice is starting to sound weird :/
This is cringe, I'm tired of trying to find some positives in this super forced american pleasing bullshit.
Please do. Dance, you have permission :)
Name one bad song. Name one forgettable chorus. Name one song that didn't force you to dance in some way.
I think I would find a way to move to this even if I was cemented in a pillar.
Jokes aside, a constant ear pleasing, with concepts/messages conveyed trough the extremely detailed production (i.e. Syrup) and the unbelievably full of character delivery she has, sauced with diverse and fun flows.
A whole package: awesome RnB performances, which bring you to your knees and make you want to ... read more
Some highlights and some forgettable songs. Some cool flows and solid deliveries and some lazy skip-calling ones.
It all averages to a decent project, not super interesting but with good cohesiveness and a cool enough vibe.
This thing run over me like a fucking armored truck. Really, I feel out of breath from the constant satisfaction I felt going through this. I will consume this record, Tyler has a way of hooking you to the project and inviting you to listen to it again with a menacing grin.
I mean, the man delivered in every possible way we could have asked of him. Hype is a problem, projects get shit even if they don't deserve it because of it. But goddamn here the problem doesn't arise at all.
This is kind ... read more
I love this dreamy vibe, the openness the instrumentals make is a comfortable setting for his super chill delivery.
The harp embellishments are very cool.
The rap verse is kinda random, but it picks up instantly with the harmonizing vocals that fade out with the instrumentals. Kinda cool.
I've got to say tho, this is all A LOT for a song about getting dumped LMAO. Someone got burned.
Flute beat is an automatic banger. And his delivery is cool. Maybe the song feels a bit like an unpolished cut?
