Coming back to this a year on, it has aged exceptionally well so far, and I find it only has gotten better for me with time. Like damn Charli was in her bag on this one fr!!!
It's so goddamn fun. The production is absolutely incredible. It's admirable how seriously these guys take being silly and unserious at all times.
Definitely their best. Like a lot of their discography, falls into the trap of peaking too early and being littered with the weaker songs in the back half. Despite this, the weaker stuff here is leaps and bounds better than almost anything else they've done. They finally made me give a shit about a twenty one pilots album, I gotta give 'em props for that.
The Contract had my attention, THIS now has my interest. I am actually excited for a twentyonepilots album in 2025, something I never thought I would ever be saying.
Literally everything you could ever want in a cover. It is on par with, if not surpasses the source material, which is insane when you're covering David fucking Bowie LMAO
Easily the best of the singles they've released so far this year. Feels more of a step forward for the band than any of the others.
They've done the impossible. They've made me give a piss about the new twentyonepilots album.
I just need this to be added to streaming in Canada and my life is complete.
1/3 of the way into the year and I finally have a new album release that I truly, genuinely, fuck with a TON. This is excellent.
Really great vocals, really solid stuff overall. The progression of the band's sound from RW to here makes sense.
Genuinely shocked that I enjoyed this as much as I did. Also taken aback by how it somehow managed to out-sad any Radiohead album I've previously listened to and not sound overly whiny.
