This is easily the best TV Girl album I've heard. This is shockingly good, and a very nice rebound to see.
Robot Stop and Evil Death Roll are great but I can't say I remember anything else. It just sounds a bit samey to me.
This is art. A terrible and unbearable listen, and simultaneously a must listen!
A somewhat inconsistent and oddly brief album from an artist I always associate with consistently excellent and rather long and expansive releases. The heights here are absolutely otherworldly, but man there are some really mleh songs here.
It's so unbelievably smooth. However I feel like it strays more into flash over function at times.
I was really dreading listening to this album, as someone with similar trauma in my own life. However I was exceptionally surprised by what I heard in a good way.
Admittedly I was not enjoying the album all too much after the first five or so tracks, and I really only clicked with the opener. So what changed? Honestly it was just the combination of The Wallflower Equation and Sludge, a song I was very much hoping would not underwhelm due to its 22 minute run time. It's obviously nowhere near the original. It's still pretty alright though, it's just weird that as a remix with a feature as big as Grimes it feels more stripped down and bare than the original.
Please please please have the next album be as great as this.
It's pretty good. A bit samey at times and I think it could've maybe been made a bit more concise in its runtime. Overall I left pretty satisfied though :)
EDIT: (82 -> 88) Goddamn it gets better with every listen.
An album that unfortunately squanders any and all momentum it generates from its opening four tracks. The back half simply drags on far too long and does not hold a candle to the front half.
Like yeah it's not the greatest thing in the world and it's a bit hit-or-miss but overall I'm really glad a remix album of this size can exist in this day and age.
Man I don't think I'll ever not love this album. It's so cozy for me.
Is this the best thing ever? No, absolutely not. But it made me so unbelievably happy anyways.
Absolutely refuse to believe that he got 2/4 of the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS to write this song for him. He doesn't mention California a single time.
