Really really good. Favorite from Black Thought at least as of writing. INSANE beats and performances through the entire thing. Danger Mouse's production elevates Thought to a new level, this is probably the most consistent an album of his has been. Loved the vibes so much. Favorite is Aquamarine, I think it's amazing in every way, genuinely perfect. Least favorite is Close to Famous, not even REMOTELY bad, but just the least interesting one in my ... read more
Solid album, though a step down from the last two. Like the last one, it had a section of being worse than usual, but a longer section of that. Kind of a shame to end with what's a little disappointing, but it's still a fairly good time, it's not THAAAT much lower than the last one. Still good performances from thought, I didn't mind Portugal and thought he did honestly pretty good for the most part, andddddd yeah. Favorite was Fuel, as usual with the bests on these it did ... read more
Another really solid set of songs. It's noticeably a bit worse than last time, but it still has really good songs. The middle of the album was a reason to it being worse, they're still GOOD but not at all to the quality of the great songs. It's a big shame, but I don't really care, most of the album is still pretty great. Great performances from Thought on each song very least. Favorite song is Conception, amazing instrumental and feature. Least favorite was Long Liveth, the ... read more
Really strong set of tracks. Love the rhyming a lot I found it really impressive just how smoothly Thought did those. Flows were insane. Enjoyed the vibes of all of the instrumentals. Just a great time. My favorite was 9th vs. Thought, did what the rest of the tracks do but the best in my opinion by a nice bit. Least favorite was Making a Murderer, Thought did great but it could've gone without the feature, didn't really care for his verse.
Insane album. I've only previously listened to "Beloved, Paradise, Jazz" before this, and it set high expectations for whatever I heard next. Those were met. The instrumentals to these songs are all amazing, there's some I don't care for as much but even there the instruments are amazing and easily the highlight. Even then, McKinley has such amazing inflexions in his voice that add an energy to these songs that heighten them even more than they already are by the ... read more
