I think Kate Bush's vocals are a aquired taste here, as amazing as they are. I absolutely loved Babooshka and I think her vocals were spot on there. As much as I enjoy the rest of the album, I might need a re-listen to really get to love it.
Yeah, this fucking slaps. I don't know why I've slept on Paramore for so long... Fast in My Car is such an amazing opener, the bass sounds like it's turning screws in my brain. Ain't it Fun - Still Into You is just ecstatic stuff. Proof is another favorite; the riff feels like a big wave you ride for the whole song, everytime it picks up again I feel a deep sense of satisfaction. Otherwise not too crazy for the interludes, but they don't take much away from this amazing ... read more
Compared to Day, this has much more qualities as being a kind of synthpop-psych-ambient mix to listen to in the background.
But when the duo improved one thing since the day/night EPs it‘s their choruses. Most of these songs I find myself don‘t really caring for because the choruses don’t really resonate with me. Especially Move Slow would otherwise perfectly fit in Mercurial World for example, but something is always left to be desired.
Besides, Redbone is such a weird ... read more
Waking Up is a bop, the rest falls a bit flat. Set Me Off is also very decent, but the chorus doesn’t click with me at all. I prefer Head over Heals cover over the original, which I‘m not a huge fan of actually. #Wastehistime is cute, but I can‘t stop thinking I‘m listening to Trouble by Taylor Swift. I think it‘s catchier than Set Me Off though.
Got a nice punch to it, but is also groovy sometimes. You know that all the alt rock bands of the 90s listened to this.
One really good song, two catchy tunes that make you want to discover this album's sound and themes and 9 more songs that are dragging this album down so hard and fast. Uncreative lyricism and incredibly bland instumentals leave me pretty disappointed.
Especially the last track, the title track, leaves me so disappointed to learn what this whole albums theme was all about. It's a bland, superficial commentary on the industry. "You don't know the life of a showgirl, ... read more
One of my favorite albums of all time sound wise. The visions outro is massaging my brain, I can literally physically feel it.

Dead Inside: Nice fat bass, the drums become boring after a short while. The chorus and the 3rd act are underwhelming as well. Lyrics don’t tell you anything more than what the song title already did. 5,5/10
Psycho: If you love bass heavy Muse, this is your song. The lyrics are really cheesy, but overall it’s really enjoyable. Probably one of the best Muse riffs. 7/10
Mercy: This wouldn’t be half as bad, if the arpeggios in the chorus were played on a piano rather than a ... read more
alright, without the novelty aspect, this is certainly still enjoyable but this song has nothing that I can’t get from earlier songs and projects.
Heaviness is not about who can play the lowest notes but also about style. The messy riffs and eccentric solos are what I love about the more heavier sides on OOS and Absolution. I wouldn‘t have listened to this a second time, if this wasn’t a Muse song, which is something I definitely can‘t say about the songs that made me ... read more
I will never love a piece of music as much as 2001-2006 Muse, I‘m afraid
I never imagined I would give a band from my hometown such a high score but here we are
