This is Bad Bunny's Astroworld and I'm not just saying that to bullshit. Benito hones into a more refined and experimental side while still being able to be radio playable. The first 5 song stretch is the best work of music Bad Bunny has ever put out. I love the Latin and Caribbean roots Bad Bunny taps into in this album.
EDIT: I needed to re-review this with a deeper look into PR culture and an understanding of ... read more
In middle school I was in theater which probably explained why I loved this album so much. I thought this was the peak of concept album storytelling but as time passes the majority of songs just aren't that good anymore.
The Mind Electric and Dream Sweet are still amazing songs.
The Money Store feels like an album that would beat the shit out of me. It is so hardcore and so abrasive if I took this album to a party it would get kicked out. If I gave this album a car it would go 100 in a 40. Death Grips made such an insane album with The Money Store.
Get Got is one of the greatest if not the greatest opening track to an industrial album I have ever heard.
I've Seen Footage is one of the most iconic experimental songs I know. I stay noided.
Double Helix has some of ... read more
I'm redoing my review on this completely because I've listened through this EP like 10 times in the past 2 days. This EP is so beautiful it's insane. Lucy's vocals are so gorgeous and I love their voice, and the vocal layering is very reminiscent of Imogen Heap. The first two songs are the first pointer that this EP is nothing like Lucy's other two projects. They remind me of the theatrical internetcore music I listened to in middle school but with a musicality and ... read more
I'm gonna sound like the friend that's too woke but this song just feels so demeaning and ill-intented. I think the cheesiness of the actual song and instrumental are fun but the message is so misguided.
In a matter of three days, I have become a fan of Lucy. Amy compiles three pretty neat songs that I would love to hear more of in another fully fleshed-out project. The ambient notes in the single are so good.
So far this is Lucy's weakest project, which makes me extremely excited for their upcoming project. Lucy's performance outdoes Ego's the majority of the time and the EP is less experimental and out there than Sisterhood and Fete de la Vanille. It's just 5 songs so it doesn't have much going against it rather than if this sound was over a whole 30-40 minute project.
