The shining star of Cash's obscure 80's LP's, this is pure pop with a hint of country. It's not what any of us want from Cash, but it's nice to see he can turn his hand in other directions even on his 70th LP
Another album that's a cooler idea on paper. The songs are actually pretty good for an album solely written by Cash, but the spoken word stories just sadly lead eventually to nowhere.
Every song hits the mark, it feels like he's singing some songs he's been singing his whole life, some songs he's singing for the first time, and some songs he hasn't sung in over 40 years.
I get the take from this that if you are looking for a compilation of charming country songs, well I can tell you that she might not be what you're looking for. But what she does have are a very particular set of skills, skills she has acquired over a very long career, skills that make her a nightmare for people like you.
