Naked not only serves as a return to form (or as close as it can get to being one), but as a pretty decent way of calling it quits.

It's quite a feat to pull of a late-career album as ambitious as Naked, and the Heads do so with style and vitality. But no matter how much the liner notes may boast of free-form invention and boundless creativity, the album's elegiac, airtight tone betrays the sound of four musicians growing tired of the limits they've imposed on one another.

Despite its commitment to melodic optimism, funk, and groove, the album didn’t quite hit the mark with audiences and failed to obtain the success or legacy of the band’s earlier work. Neither did it hit the mark for the band, it seems.

guys the monkey isn't real. this is clearly a framed image of the ape; most likely a painting of some kind.
get real.
An unfortunate ending to an amazing band that offered a shit ton of peak. They got at least a little more experimental with utilizing bongos and creating an album vibe. The cover art is cool I fuck with it, but it’s a far reach away from what they have originally created which is a damn shame.
Favorite song on the album: (Nothing But) Flowers (this song was probably the last talking heads song to me on this journey. It had all the connections back to their glory days.)
