John Cusack standing outside Ione Skye's window in the early morning, holding a boom box over his head while In Your Eyes was playing is essentially one of most iconic cinematic moments and made me realize how this is such a cornerstone, an essential 80's record that screams nostalgia. No need to press the skip button here.

It's funny to think that he made this when he was 36... I don't know why that cracks me up so much. Look, this thing is fun to listen to, and even though some tracks really don't click with me as well as some others, I believe that the overall experience makes up for it.

This is pretty much a downright 80s album. Even more than this, it screams like an 80s album that would be hevaily featured in 80s movies. I'm pretty sure this is just a true statement and not necessarily an observation. But still.

So, the first album of Peter Gabriel that doesn't have just his name on the sleeve, is pushing with its remarkable strength the iron gates of rock industry and manages to open them with his exceptional sensibility, carefully adapted to this certain purpose.
