one of the first albums i ever listened to and it still holds quite well considering what my music taste was like back then lol. This album gets carried hard by the opener and closer but overall a good amount of consistency in quality is kept, every song shines due to how few there are. Its energetic, very 80s in its synths and songwriting, and overall just oozes charm. Best way to describe it is that it gives the same vibe as the film 'the breakfast club'. really solid all around

even though i dont really listen to rap that much, and even though i dont even think this is his best album anymore (its either igor or cmiygl), i can't understate the effect this album had on me, and that its basically the reason i listen to music the way i do. Thanks to flower boy, i started to listen to albums, i started to pay attention to the production aspects, i started to engage to more with my music taste, and i started to be more patient towards music that i initially felt didnt sound ... read more

As long as Natalia Lafourcade continues to make music, Mexicans stay winning. Both the first and second volume of this series represents a pivotal point in her career and for the better, her explorations into folk and latin music are so colorful and well composed, guitar and vocals never sounded better. its both an album that you can just put in the background and enjoy, but can also be listened to actively. The synergy between natalias voice and the macorinos compositions and playing is insane ... read more

ive cried to phoebe more than any other artist and honestly how can i not. i always feel like albums are elevated by the experiences you have with them and this is definitely one of them, its held my hand during my lowest times and has let me bond with some of the most important people in my life, everyone that i know who has also listened to this seems to 'get it'. tragically sad, and beautiful, the production makes you feel like youre submerged in a body of water, looking up at the night sky ... read more

Just an incredibly comforting album from one of the most artful artists ive heard. the biggest praise i can give it is that i have heard this countless times over the past 2 years and i still havent grown tired of it. lianne's vocals melt into your brain and all instrumentals on this are so well crafted and mixed, every song feels like its own precious stone, cut into a gemstone. It doesn't feel bloated (except for maybe on paper thin) and despite the slow nature of the music, no song makes me ... read more
