This album is just beautiful tbh, a fairly short but great listen. I can't believe that it has such a low user rating.
It has a couple highs, but the production gets really weird sometimes and a lot of the songs drop off towards the second half of their runtime. I do love this album despite the fact I don't think it is the most perfect thing. I do love how abstract the whole project is, and the haunting sound of the vocals. Even if it isn't the greatest album, it holds a special place in my heart, nonetheless.
I thought this album was great. I get yeah it probably isn't actually this good. But it was a fun listen.
This is my first Mitski album, but I honestly thought it was pretty great! It's not the usual stuff I listen to, but it's a good listen.
idk it's decent. The sound is cool, but I don't really have any other thoughts on it.
It's decent but Boldy James has much better works, and I think the collaborators did a poor job on a couple tracks.
Honestly, I don't know if I have anything to say that has not already been said. But this is one of the most beautiful albums I have ever listened to, and I think it is an absolute must listen for any music fan. I can't believe it took me this long to finally listen to it, but it was worth my time.
I'm honestly super surprised by how low the ratings on this project are, as I thought this was an excellent project. The production was amazing and I loved it all the way through. The lyrics were like the perfect bow to compliment the gift that is the production on this mixtape. I get I'm overrating it a lot and it isn't the most interesting project, but I just love the sound, and I can't help wanting more.
I feel like I need to give this a couple more listens before it truly settles in for me, but for now I think this is a good spot for it. Not as good as The Forever Story, but still a lot better than most other projects this year.
Idk. I know this album does not seem as well liked as I originally thought it would be, and I do understand some of the criticism. But I can't help but love this album, and I think it's my favorite Cole album by far. Great project imo, but it could be recency bias, we'll see when I listen to it again in a couple months.
I like a lot of Mario Judah's recent singles and his recent EP. But I cannot attest to how disappointingly ass this is.
I looked into Kurious after listening to "?" by MF DOOM a couple times and hearing how good his feature was. His weird discography intrigued me, and I wanted to see more of his product, thus I listened to this. I must say this was extremely good, and unexpectedly so. Though weirdly enough, the one song that did end up disappointing me on this album was "Par for the Course" with Mr. Fanastik. I can't really explain it, but it just didn't hit as hard as the other ... read more
To me, this is on par with "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye, this is one of the greatest records I have ever listened to. The melodies are great and the lyrics are even better. Gil Scott-Heron speaks on a ton of ongoing issues at the time that still hit surprisingly close even in the modern the day. The album is an hour long, but it goes by swiftly as I kept finding myself engrossed in the music, tuning out the outside world. It's an amazing listen that I think is on par ... read more
I honestly don't know what to say, I love a lot of the production on the album, and the vocalist does a great job. It feels very poppy, but with a dark undertone throughout the whole runtime. It's solid, and a good listen for anyone.
