It's like super good, but it's just too short for me to give it a super high rating. I will definitely be checking out more of their stuff though.
Honestly, I was super surprised at how much enjoyed this, this is my first time hearing Little Simz, and if the rest of her catalogue is like this I need to hear more. Her flows are great, and the beats are heavenly. She also changes up the tunes of each song frequently, so it doesn't get samey. Her lyrics are extremely good, while (admittedly at first glance) these verses don't seem too technically impressive, without a lot of double entendres and such, but the subjects she speaks ... read more
Underrated gem, and I think anybody who loves A Tribe Called Quest should give it a listen. I honestly wish they made more albums, as even just this little snippet is amazing, and a sign of an artist with a future, that we unfortunately never got to see.
I listened to this as it was recommended to me by a friend, and this really was a beautiful listen. I just played the whole album while building in minecraft (lmao), and it was amazing. I love all the brass instruments included in these songs, as it sounds so much better than just the simple guitar a lot of songs in this genre have. 10/10
Absolutely amazing album, and everything I would've wanted from an Alfredo 2. The beats are a lot more laid back and chill here which I enjoy, and I think Gibbs has only improved his lyricism since the first. Some of the lyrics are also funny asf like when he talks about sucking Akademiks tits lmao. Genuinely amazing, and something I'll be coming back to for a while.
It's extremely good. The rapping performance from Gibbs and the production from The Alchemist is amazing, and neither of them have major low points on this album. I just wish there was more to be honest, even an extra three to four songs would've been amazing.
I actually quite enjoy the first half of this album (with the exception of "Lust For Life"), and I think it has a lot of that old Drake flow I really enjoy. The main issue is that everything after "Best I Ever Had" is just not very great, and aged kinda poorly. I do enjoy the beat on "Congratulations", as I think the sample is unique and fun, but the lyrics just aren't good. I do think it is a solid and listenable mixtape, but definitely not the best, and ... read more
I know a lot of people don't like this album, and I'm probably overrating it a lot. But for me personally, this is exactly what I want to see from Drake, and I love these more melodic cuts. I honestly wish he still made music similar to this, as it's perfect for me. But alas all he does is make mid.
I'm surprised at how good this was, I loved a lot of the more melodic tracks.
I thought this was absolutely fire, and it's so impressive that Lupe is still able to make something like this after all these years.
Im actually quite surprised that I liked this album as much as I did, as I am not a big drake fan, but this is an extremely good album for his standards, and I liked everything on it.
idk tbh, its feels like the definition of mid to me. I don't think any of the song are bad, in fact I thought they were all decent, but nothing crazy good.
One of the most interesting pieces of music I know of honestly. Will always love this album.
(Rating this as what it is, just three tracks and not an album.)
For how unfortunately short this small bundle of songs is, they leave a mark. I'm really happy with where Mario Judah has been going with his music recently, and I hope he drops an album in this style soon. These are on par with his last few singles, and amazing.
