At it's time, this album was revolutionary, but now, it didn't age as well in my opinion. Some songs feel very corny and very centralised around Kanye's personality. Don't get me wrong though, this album is really good. It has some of Kanye's best production since the college trilogy, especially since it incorporates all of his albums into one, it has some aspects of Yeezus in it, some of Graduation, and so forth, which is why I scored this really high, as it's a ... read more
This is when experimental goes right. I love the Hardcore Rap style to this album, while still having some of that classic Kanye incorporated inside of it, however still has some elements of 808's which I disliked, hence not being higher. But overall another album that has great production, solid lyrics, and banger on banger. One thing I really like about this album is how consistently good it is, unlike some other Kanye albums where it slips towards the end or the middle is weaker and so ... read more
I really find this album enjoyable. It's thrilling to say the least and for me is a bit over hated. I think it could have been better considering Jay-Z and Kanye were arguably the most popular rappers at the time, so I think the lower ratings are more because of the higher expectations, but still a great album nonetheless. I find the lower half to be weaker as well, as the production is a bit too experimental, especially when the first half of it was going so well, but this album features ... read more
Wow. This album is really really good. I love how Kanye's style is really evolving as the times go by, as it targets different audiences who prefer a calmer, poppy song or a very intense song, essentially branching himself more as a rapper, than a pop-rapper, and obviously has 2 incredibly iconic Kanye songs - Power & Runaway. The only reason this isn't a 100 is because of the songs after Runaway, I find them all to be a bit bland and rushed and don't fit with the other songs ... read more
I hate to say it but I find this album very average. There's only about 5 songs I like on this album and even then they don't rank super high. The only reason it's not 70 or lower is because it did genuinely redefine modern pop thanks to it's repetitive use of auto tune, which is my main problem with this album. It simply did not age well, and only a few songs I can really listen to nowadays and enjoying the song itself. The production and lyrics isn't even that great ... read more
For me, the perfect pop/rap album. Such a fun, happy and iconic album that has little to no flaws. Maybe 1 or 2 weaker songs but all the other songs are close to 10/10 each. I find it the most iconic in Kanye's discography and just the whole vibe of the album I absolutely adore, and has some of the most iconic songs Kanye ever made. Just all round the perfect album and my favourite of all time and honestly features some of Kanye's best production in terms of versatility and has the ... read more
Yet again another Kanye album that ages like fine wine - little to no skips again however slightly more skips due to some lyrics being a bit questionable at times. Late Registration features tons of classics, such as Gold Digger, again maybe too many skits which don't really fit the album style at times, unlike the skits in TCD did, and I feel the start and the end of the album is so strong but the middle not so much. In my opinion as good as TCD just slightly weaker. Still no signs of ... read more
This album bends it time for how modern it is even to it's day, little to no skips with all songs being an easy 8/10 and some of the songs being Kanye's best ever, a star was born in production and rapping. The only criticism is that there are too many skits which personally I don't care too much for and maybe a little unbalanced in terms of where the features appear but other than that, wow, top album.
