A lot more mature and a higher banger ratio than Days Before Rodeo, although being released only a year later. It's consistent and throughout and is very ambitious which really pays off, as it really writes Travis's style and although some didn't age that well, which is why the rating is so low, but the production on this is one of his best and has a lot of rememberable songs. Slightly overrated but still a really good album and features some of my favourite Travis Scott songs on ... read more
Really solid and is quite consistent. It's not great and hasn't aged the greatest, but it's still a solid attempt as it was quite revolutionary at it's time, and even in 2024 it's still a gripping experience, just how it would've been in 2014. However, it has some lows, and the lows are really low, with pretty corny and poor lyricism which thankfully Travis irons out in his later work. Overall solid but by far his rawest work.

This album is truly incredible. It really stands out in it's time and influenced so many great rappers to this day. Illmatic features one of the greatest rap songs of all time (N.Y State Of Mind) and many more classics, and is consistent throughout. It uses unique samples to it's time although it's a little safe, it is simply a great album. Slightly overrated as nowadays all the songs aren't super listenable however this is a consistently solid album that bends it's ... read more
A very inconsistent yet fun and charming project. Some of the songs really save this a bit messy album. I wouldn't say it's exciting either, a bit boring at times and the lows are really low, which is the usual with Yung Gravy for me. It's just quite meh but I do admire he doesn't take it seriously yet can create some good tracks, just wonder how good he'd be if he took music a bit more serious. Overall just meh.

It's nothing special but I enjoy bbno$'s character and he can generate some decent music. This album is quite inconsistent though, so I would really call it an okay album at a push. I do enjoy some of these songs but the rest of the album not that much, but I do respect this album in some way, considering he doesn't really take himself seriously, but did so on this project.

It's better than Valedictorian, but it's probably pure luck. Still a mess of an album and is just really, really bad. Sloppy production, still copying songs already out there, but at least it's somewhat different after each song. One good song that gets carried by Yachty (Hate Me) and really carries the whole album as a whole in terms of listenability, which I suppose is a big improvement on Valedictorian. Just another Yeat wannabe which I don't understand why you'd ... read more
I despise this style of music, and he copies it. Simple as that, and he doesn't do it well. His whole personality does not fit this type of song and it was really hard to finish this. It's really as bad as people say it is and I don't get the appeal whatsoever. It's crap from start to finish and feels like I'm listening to the same song on repeat.

Although as an album I find it nothing spectacular, it just works so well for some reason, maybe it's because it's by far Logic's most ambitious and overall great album he's made, he's clearly matured as a musician with his lyrics, and the production on this album stands out in the year 2024. Paul Rodriguez is really one of the songs of the year. Another thing I really appreciate is how consistent it is, it doesn't go from a strong start to a mediocre middle, ... read more
A lot of good, and a lot of bad. Simply to put, the features carry and only some of the solo Future & Boomin songs work. It's still a solid album and 2024 was not a strong year for rap in general, so I find this album to be a bit more fresh than I'd usually see it. Like That is really the best song on this album and surprisingly Future keeps up with Kendrick on it. As I said earlier though it is quite inconsistent, especially towards the end, which is what usually happens in this ... read more
Simply another brilliant album, although a bit more forgettable to me compared to his other work, still a top album of when DOOM was in his prime lyrically and production wise. This persona really brought out the best of DOOM, as later on he used similar samples to this album which really made them albums one of the best. This album is quite consistent throughout, just really solid. Not much more to say, it's just simply good.

For me, DOOM's last really good album. Born Like This is a slight step down from his previous work, but still resonates as a classic in the hip-hop scene, as it has some absolute bangers, and the production, as always - unique, passionate and amazing. It still has DOOM's classic lyricism while still showing how much he matured as a musician. Simply another great album that will be forever remembered, just like the legend himself.

From near perfection, to near perfection. This album is just so iconic in DOOM's discography and really resonates in my heart shearly for that, although this album feels a lot more silly than the masterpiece Madvillainy was, it is still an unbelievable, the vibes are yet again unreal - it just makes you happy while still enjoying the brilliant production and meaning. There will never be another MF DOOM, and I find this album to be one of his most iconic, and is banger after banger, thanks ... read more
Man. The lyricism, the unique beats, the samples, this album's style and vibe is just unmatched, it really feels like you're in DOOM's world with his ideas and Madlib's incredible production. Track to track, just pure brilliance, and has held in time to be seen as one of the best rap albums, and rightly so. All songs are a minimum 7.5/10 however I do feel from song 1-6 it is really, really strong, but slips, but from 14-22 it's back to it's shear perfection, if ... read more
It's clever, the first half is absolutely unreal with it's lyricism, unique production and flawless at that. Although I prefer his other persona's, Vaudeville Villain still captures The Illest Villain while having that humorous spin to this album which the flow is still unmatched. It is simply so ambitious and the transitions between the songs I don't really see on the older albums, which really showed off DOOM's skill and effort he put into these projects. Although DOOM has evolved since this album, it's still a really good debut album under the new MF DOOM persona. It's refreshing compared to his later work, as it's just pure DOOM lyricism, and less focus on the instrumental, while still showing off his skills as a lyrical rapper, as his flow is unreal even in this album. My only criticism is that this album really starts off strong, but after The Finest, it goes down hill, until the last few. Overall solid.

Some highs, some lows. This album is incredibly bland and has some aspects of the old Eminem but overall a really average album. It feels really dragged on with many songs feeling like repeats, and all be it most songs in here are very corny and feels unserious compared to his older work, although this man has been pretty washed for a while now... Some song stands out in this all-round bland album that does not deserve to be nominated for Rap Album Of The Year...

Another near flawless album by Kendrick. I find this album to really stand out from the rest, with a different style to me, feels more generic but in a good way, more people can connect to the music, while still having same old Kendrick incorporated inside of it. Clearly no signs of slowing down as the production is as always - top tier. My only bone to pick is that it is a lot safer than his other work, I do feel this album could have been one of his best if it just had that spark the other ... read more
I think the cultural impact on this album is lower than TPAB, but for me it's just so iconic and I think really engraved Kendrick into a star and has some of his best work, however I do feel at some times Kendrick played it safe, resembling a lot of TPAB's spirit into this album - which obviously is not a bad thing, hence still being rated 95, but that's my only bone to pick. I do also think from start to finish it's a really strong album, and little to no complaints just ... read more
This album is truly incredible, it's production, it's meaning, it's influence, it's lyricism. Just an unreal album. I do feel that it's not Kendricks best though, I don't think it's as iconic as some other albums but still an incredible project that deserves to be seen as one of the best rap albums of it's time. Little to no skips yet again and has some of Kendrick's best songs inside of it. My only criticism is the whole political theme of this ... read more
Banger after banger on this project. I absolutely adore this album and think this is Kendrick's best by a mile, it's iconic, perfect production, perfect lyrics, perfect everything. There is not a single complaint on this album and is truly one of the greatest albums of all time. It doesn't even deteriorate from start to finish, that's how flawless Kendrick is in his song writing, and this album really shows off how versatile and that he is one of the greatest rappers of all ... read more
