If you've listened to Shoreline Mafia before, then you already know what you're gonna get every time from them. Tracks 3 to 7 are pretty catchy with their production and flows. The first two tracks and the last one are easily skips though.
There's nothing that Kehlani does on here that's groundbreaking or anything. I think Kehlani is a really good singer and she has many good vocal performances on here, but the lack of versatility, basic songwriting, and unimpressive features makes the album unmemorable and drags it down for me.
Also, shout out to Cardi B. Never thought I would hear a woman call her coochie a hot pocket and say "go ham and cheese" on it lmao.

The album starts off strong with the first three tracks, but dips a little bit with the next three, but picks back up with the last four. Rome Streetz easily had the best feature on "Crumbs" which is just a perfect beat for him to rap on. I was a little bit underwhelmed with the "T.S.O.D." featuring two great rappers, Black Thought and Mach-Hommy. I thought their features didn't mesh all that well and makes the song seem a bit off in total.
Pretty generic digicore album that doesn't provide anything to the table that other digicore albums do accompanied by some mindnumbingly boring vocal performances. At least "Like glue" is a banger though.
This EP was pretty decent. It started off rough with the first three tracks having some vocal performances from Momo that just sounded nasal-y like on "Strong" when she stretches out the "ongs" in words like strong and wrong. After those tracks, the EP does pick up a bit with better melodies and no more nasal-y performances. "Ooops" has my favorite instrumental, but the lyrics and the reptitive syllable stretches just leaves me underwhelmed. I feel like she has ... read more
Sonically, it's not that much different from The Marias. The atmosphere and songwriting does feel more mature and somber than the band's work. I thought the album started off strong with the first four tracks being the best, but then it gradually goes down slightly that it kind of starts becoming one note with regarding her singing and pacing of the songs.
I mean what else could you want from the rap album. Nas showcases elite rhyming and deliveries that does a great job in visualizing his experiences. You also have great production from some of the best producers in the genre ever like Pete Rock, DJ Premier, and Q-Tip. Many songs on here are classics and some of the best of all time and AZ's feature is one of the best rap features of all time as well.
Hearing this album and then finding out she was only 14-15 years old when it was recorded and released makes you think how crazy talented she was. It also makes it crazier when you learn that she and R. Kelly were in a relationship when he was 27 years old!! Listening to this album while knowing that he wrote it as well really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. "Age Ain't Nothing But a Number" is a such a banger with great singing from Aaliyah, but the lyrics about a minor going ... read more
I know a lot of people love this album and have it as her best, but to be honest it doesn't fully 100% connect with me. From what I understand, the production was apparently ahead of its time and helps separate it from her previous work, but I find it a bit awkward when paired with her singing sometimes. When I hear the production sometimes I'm expecting a song that would be played in a club, then Aaliyah's slow singing comes in and with the pacing kind of disengages me from the ... read more
A lot of people would say that her self titled is the best, but honestly I think this one is. I love her soulful singing paired with the slower production. The writing on here, with help from Missy Elliott, helps the album sound more mature than her debut despite being only 17 at the time.
Obviously, expectations weren't high when going into this record but at least he managed to meet them. There's nothing special about this record when it comes production or lyrics. Some of the trap beats are fine, but nothing that really catches your hear. Features don't really add much to the music either especially with French Montana sounding drunk on his.
Man slayr really shined with his production on this one. The additions of pop, EDM, rock, and metal on songs throughout the deluxe really helps him stand out amongst others in the rage scene. His rapping is much the same as the original just with some more singing and it really gives off big Lil Uzi Vert vibes to me.

As someone who has been a big rage music hater, this is the first rage project that I've actually been able to somewhat enjoy. What really separates slayr apart from the others in this lane of rap is his creativity. The digicore and electronic elements on here is sort of a breathe of fresh air to the genre. Another thing that I appreciate about this project is that his voice is actually hearable. Now, his voice and delivery aren't unique, but at least I can actually hear what ... read more
Man I wish I followed music back then like I do now because this album is fantastic. Tyler really takes you on a bumpy ride through his relationship and the emotions he experiences. The production provides a great setting for this breakup narrative that Tyler goes on about on this album.
One of the best instrumental hip hop and jazz rap albums out there, the jazz samples and production is simply immaculate and mesmorizing. Great performances from the features that evoke emotion and helps you connect with the music much more.
Favorites: Feather, reflection eternal, Luv(sic.) Pt 3, Eclipse, flowers, Light on the land, Horizon
I can't quite fully get into this album. I've been enjoying electropop and synthpop lately, but with Robyn's style it's a little difficult for me connect with this. Some of the electronic elements mostly seem to miss the mark and, while I do think she has a good voice, it's not really my favorite.
The best way to describe this album would probably be a boom bap fan's dream. The entire record is just that with good rhymes and flows from both Tek and Steele. If boom bap isn't your thing or you're not a biggest fan of it, then I wouldn't blame you for not being able to fully get into this album.
