This is pure bliss. It does so well at making you feel at peace with simple lyrics that fit the beautiful music perfectly. It doesn’t try very hard to be perfect, and maybe that’s something that makes it perfect to me.
I swear I’m not crazy, this song is genuinely really good. The chorus is catchy and uplifting, and the instrumental is a fun vibe and doesn’t even sound generic. I think it only feels generic if you’ve heard it on the radio countless times, which I suppose is fair, but this is legitimately a well constructed pop song. I also really like the vocals but that’s just a me thing.
A bit of a dip in quality for them but it’s still better than No Culture and Dance And Cry in my opinion. I like the slower and quieter songs on here, they really captured a nice vibe with them. Finger isn’t THAT bad, I agree with the lyrics but I suppose they don’t have to be that on the nose.
Another great record from them, instrumentally it’s a great listen without sounding generic to me! I could see myself coming back to all of these songs except for the one minute one. Favorite tracks were Nobody Escapes, Head Shrink, Forever, Normalize, and The Matrix.
Okay Mother Mother is so back with this album, it has a unique vibe unlike their last 2 records and it feels like they tried a lot more with it. Some songs are a lot more fun, like Forgotten Souls, and some are just so unbelievably beautiful, like Pure Love. The title track though, god damn. It’s so underappreciated. The start is really beautiful, and the guitar solo in the second half is so damn good.
Least favorite Mother Mother album. I feel like they’ve lost their flair on this album. It sounds like ordinary rock music often. However, Back To Life is really really good. It certainly deserved a better record. What’s not good is It’s Alright. I understand that people can resonate with the message in the song, but instrumentally it sounds too radio friendly.
