This is a movie album. A story you need to play in order to fully get a grasp on. Green Eyes the 10 Minute anthem 10/10.
I got spiritual after listening to this album for the first time. That's how impactful Erykah Badu is.
As a fan of the Fugees and of course Lauryn Hill, their first outing wasn’t there best work, if anything besides an occasional good performance, (Nappy Heads, Vocab) Blunted on Reality is better left in the Fugees past. That not to say it should be forgotten though.
This isn’t a sophomore slump. It’s a continuation of Lenae’s artistry growing.
I remember when "Hypnos" first dropped, it felt melancholic like a dream you relived but it was all new memories. And it's still in its own lane.
Woods' music has always been Earthy at its best and a fresh of breath air at it's worse. As I continue to relisten to "Water Made Us'', I feel like I'm able to peel more means and enhance what she really wants to discuss with this album.
This is one of those albums where love was poured into each song. Real, vulnerable, But most importantly honest at its very core.
I enjoyed this more than I maybe should've but, Flo Milli's "Fine, Ho Stay" is a genuine bop from beginning to end.
No skips, all energy, all vulnerable, all Ms. Lauryn mother fucking Hill.
This is an album that knows exactly what it wants to be and it’s good at it.
As Wesley Joseph hones in his craft with each of his projects, Forever Ends Someday is his best work by far.
One of my favorite things is when I stumble upon a piece of art with no expectations and walk out still thinking about it for days.
