Despite the comments that it's not such a great album, I can't deny that I really enjoyed listening to it and the album was on repeat all day yesterday. The prog influence is very present in this one, starting with the length of the album (lol) which may bother some. For me it was something that didn't bother, although by the end of the album it starts to get tiring. I think the shorter songs should have been put on disc 2. Decent album worth listening to, the vocals are great and it seems to go for a more technical and progressive path than before
I wasn't expecting this to be so great as it was. Everything seems fluid and balanced between clean vocals and growls, and the mixed styles fit in such a great way that nothing looks like it was "out of nowhere", but with the purpose of an awesome sense of musical diversity. The solos and the bass are great as well. I can only say good things about it.
one of the best albums in the history of death metal, it's a must to anyone who wants to start listening to the genre. vocals, riffs, everything is brutal and very well done, it certainly deserves the classic title that is given to it.
