I really like early Connor price music, and then I’ve felt like it was really stale in The last 2 years. A lot of the songs are a cut above those songs but still not standout, but there are a few really solid songs like About Time, Mula, Hand Sanitize, Runnin and Hope it never ends. While these instrumentals are pretty good I think he and the producers should start working on the music side of things because they can feel like type beats at times. But overall a surprisingly solid album ... read more
Magdalena Bay's ability to make thorough and extremely exciting but very accessible songs is incredible man
IT'S A LONG ROAD HOME. After almost a half year of work on and off, I finally finished what I consider my debut EP, a neo-soul hip hop project called "It's A Long Road Home", written and produced 100% by me.
Taking inspiration from what I was feeling in my own life at the time, I tried to write the type of thing I wanted to hear at the time, something a little meditative and healing. So I hope for anyone who listens, it can be a nice breath in a busy day. Thanks ... read more
Honestly for me this might be TOP's best record. Great sonically with interesting production and melody throughout, great soundscape and emotionally charged. I'll have to relisten in the next few days with a lyrical focus but really pleasantly surprised with this project.
The production is generic but decent, but man I hate the lyrics to this. For some reason past her debut EP everything just feels so on the nose and obnoxious to me. Her first project felt on the nose but still good, but "sometimes I feel like a hot goblin" is just a horrible line.
Actually a pretty good release from AJR. I would prefer this as an instrumental album for sure because the vocals and lyrics are definitely the weak point but The Big Goodbye has some great production moments and overall it's just a really solid improvement. It's not great, but feels like if you took the best parts of Maybe Man and made them into a mini project, which results in something pretty solid and pleasant.
WHERE THE BIRDS FLY HIGH. A sort of incomplete project that still has some really smooth moments. Added two new tracks recently as well :)

I'm not fully in love with the vocals in the first part but it also has a very unique vibe and sound that I really like. Sorta feel like if the vocals were more of an instrument in the mix it could've vibed better
While I think these could be clarified a bit, this vinyl exclusive is much more what I was hoping for out of Vanisher. For me Quad is incredible at creating soundscapes but the main album is so caught up in the idea of itself that the music is frustratingly structured and lacks memorability. These songs, like the singles, strike a much better balance between uniqueness and complexity with accessibility and clarity. Even this version of thundrrr is a lot more fun than the real one. Anyways, even ... read more
Some of the moments here are a bit too long but just a beautiful inspirational album with a great voice and an amazing central theme. The hooks are some of the catchiest i've ever heard, the messages filled with thought and passion, and the lyricism is fantastic. Really the only complaint I have is that it never reaches the peaks of Ex-Factor - > That Thing again, and some songs just feel long and like the vocals are not as quick/precise as they could be on tracks like I Used To Love ... read more
Not as impressive as her album earlier this year, but still a really nice little project from Trop.

Vanisher is filled with perfect moments, but unfortunately, they're passing ships on a dark night, and ultimately I feel like I'm left in the water.
There's so many examples of fantastic sonic moments (even not on the singles) -- the ending of the opener, the chorus of DANCING WITHOUT MOVING, the chorus of THAT'S WHY, and of course, all three singles. But they're surrounded by production choices that feel artistic but don't move the emotional needle of the album ... read more
