Deftones comes through packing a huge punch late into their career. Crazy how chino can still keep executing amazing ideas still and keep making these masterpieces for us to listen to. This album really reminds me heavily of koi no yokan, but take that album and make it a lot more mature then you have this. Super overhated. In Gore, Chino gets the spotlight and he executes it in a very bold way. I think he gets a little ahead of himself in some tracks that just dont exactly make the mark. The stinkers on here definitely get drowned out by strong performances like Prayers/Triangles and Phantom Bride. The "bad" songs aren't even terrible listens, more so just uninteresting. Its a classic album with an amazing vibe to it. Unfortunately some more stale songs are sprinkled into the mix in between the standouts. Without those it might be a 90 but they just slow the album down when its going so great.
