This album is genuinely incredible and very nostalgic as my dad would play it very often in the car when I was young. Notably, “don’t panic” is one of my favorite songs ever. I think it would be 100 of you replaced parachutes with high speed and ended the album there, but there’s a little bit of drag. Besides that this album is pretty perfect and painted Coldplay in an amazing light at the time
Deftones comes through packing a huge punch late into their career. Crazy how chino can still keep executing amazing ideas still and keep making these masterpieces for us to listen to. This album really reminds me heavily of koi no yokan, but take that album and make it a lot more mature then you have this. Super overhated. In Gore, Chino gets the spotlight and he executes it in a very bold way. I think he gets a little ahead of himself in some tracks that just dont exactly make the mark. The stinkers on here definitely get drowned out by strong performances like Prayers/Triangles and Phantom Bride. The "bad" songs aren't even terrible listens, more so just uninteresting.
