I started losing interest midway through the album.
As a debut album, it’s impressive to see how Pamungkas managed to produce it all on his own. The album showcases his talent and versatility, and I find myself enjoying almost every track. There's a great mix of sounds and emotions that really keep you hooked.
That said, not every track resonated with me. Tracks like “Boy,” “Bottle Me Your Tears,” and “Bambina” didn’t quite hit the mark. I can’t put my finger on why, but something about ... read more
Listening to The Black Parade feels like a trip down memory lane. This album is so deeply connected to my generation; it's like the soundtrack of our youth.
Why are people giving such high ratings to an album that’s obviously raw and unfinished?
For me, this album feels like a portal to a serene, beautiful, and uplifting realm. It’s a real bummer what happened with Sabzi and Kelsey that made them stop working on this project.
People say this album is sad, boring, and disappointing. Maybe that’s why I feel such a connection to it :')
I remember being totally hooked by Billie Eilish’s soft, haunting voice the first time I heard "Ocean Eyes". Even though the album really shows off Billie’s unique talent and fresh sound, the edgy teenage vibe can sometimes feel a bit out of touch with my own experiences. Still, it’s a standout debut that really highlights her early talent and distinctive voice.
Just like with my review of "+", it’s tough for me to be totally objective about "x" because it means a lot to me. This album got me through some rough patches in college, so it's really tied to those memories. But now that I’m listening to it again, I’ve gotta admit some parts haven’t aged as well as I thought. The rap sections in a few tracks are kinda cringy now and feel out of place, which takes away from the overall vibe for me.
It’s tough for me to be objective about this album because it was my go-to during some of the hardest times in college.
You can totally see from the music videos for "Wild Blue," "New Light," and "Shot in the Dark" that John Mayer is really diving into those fun, nostalgic '80s vibes with this album.
Even though "Bintang Lima" came out just three years after "Pandawa Lima," it’s still the only album that feels super relevant today. It’s one of the best albums ever made in Indonesia, showing off Dewa 19's knack for creating timeless music.
Back then, not many Indonesian artists cared much about how an album was put together, but Dewa 19 really nailed it with "Bintang Lima." They put a lot of thought into both the opening and closing tracks, ... read more
M. Shadows’ powerful voice, combined with Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance’s killer guitar work, plus The Rev’s groovy drumming and backing vocals, really create an iconic sound.
