I dearly wish "about time" had an instrumental, cause that song is beautiful. I want to appreciate it both with and without the (amazing) lyrics.
The first four singles were fantastic. Everything after failed to make any impression on me. Weird dynamic, honestly. Maybe worth revisiting down the line.
It's good! It's not Red-Eye Effect or Cannot Be, Whatsoever good, but it's good. Honestly, these songs come together to feel like more than the sum of their parts. I like to imagine this album is a radio station in a slightly different alternate universe.
The instrumentals and drums and synths on this go absolutely pyscho. I feel like the vocals will divide some people though. Lyrics also need context to judge, unsurprisingly for TOP. Still a good opener to the era/album.
It's really solid. If the rest of the album matches this level, I think this will be his best work yet.
It's simple, it's sweet, it's Persona extended. The new songs don't feel like they necessarily add much besides runtime and good vibes, while the acoustics and lives are as well-crafted as ever before. Nothing crazy, and that's okay. I'm glad it exists.
Finally, a Bon Iver project I can enjoy! (Or don't have to respect from a distance, ala FE,FA.)
Yeah, I'm here from that one video. No, I'm definitely not crying. It's not dead if people still remain...
Well this immediately jumped into my top 10 albums of all time... unbelievable, honestly. My jaw physically dropped multiple times throughout this project. Shoegaze Indietronica Porter Robinson is every bit as beautiful and amazing as I could've imagined.
Chaotic in a way that somehow makes sense. Will need to revisit in order to understand this one, and how much I like it...
I really hope both that this gets released on streaming and that the cover isn't AI. If the first happens and the second isn't true, than everything about this is absolutely peak.
Joy is a great song in every form.
Though I'd lean toward favoring the original, this is a fantastic version and well-worth existing. It feels almost like an entirely different song--they do a lot with a little here.
