In a world of boring, shitty, low effort music, this is incredible and stands out for me. It takes a turn that I wouldn’t have expected from them, and ends up being an emotional ride that has genuinely made me bawl several times. I understand that not everyone gets it, or has to act like AJR is the worst band ever because of what some internet people say. It’s a great album, and it’s even better.
Hackensack is one of the best songs ever written and I will stand by that.
When I was younger, I didn’t listen to a ton of music. This was my first album I’ve ever listened to on my own, and holy shit. Good decision it was. It’s a masterclass on how to stand out sonically. It’s a masterclass of being honest in art, almost to where it makes other people uncomfortable by listening to it.
what the hell. absolute disgrace to what music is, and what it can be. i hate you roan for making me listen to this.
