The best album this band ever put out, or at least the most consistent. Its highest highs don't match those of Nocturne, but it doesn't have any duds. Travis Richter was also a welcome addition to the band as his voice is much better, making it a far more enjoyable experience overall. Also, AJ came back after deciding he liked metal again and injects his neoclassical shredding back into the band's sound. Their lead guitarist left after Nocturne and the band decided to continue. They then put out this piece of garbage. I said I wasn't a fan of Nathan's voice on Nocturne, and he's completely insufferable here. The music is rather forgettable, too. Just avoid it.
Damn, haven't thought of this band in a long time.
Anyway, this is a really solid proggy metalcore album with some memorable tunes. Vela in particular is incredible. Some tracks are total skips, tho, and its biggest weak point is Nathan Ells on vocals. I was never a fan of his voice.
But yeah, if you're in need of a prog metalcore fix, The Human Abstract's got you covered. They even threw in some neo-classical shred for extra flavour.
Not even Godzilla's good.
