The Story So Far - Proper Dose

God I love this fucking record so much

Kota the Friend - Lyrics to GO Vol. 5
64

Brooklyn rapper Kota the Friend returns with his 5th installment of the Lyrics to go series, bringing more laid-back vibes on some shorter tracks.

I feel as though these tapes aren't necessarily intended to blow anyone out of the water or to be to be a complete body of work, but more for Kota to continue to steadily feed his fans with some lo-fi and relaxed beats with some quick and easygoing bars to complement. I've enjoyed the overwhelming majority of Kota's work, and appreciate the fact ... read more

Benny the Butcher - Everybody Can't Go

The Big Dog, the BUTCHER!!

Benny returns with his fourth full length project, with the production split between Hit-Boy and the Alchemist.

I heard the singles for this album and I thought they were alright hype tracks but was a little underwhelmed with Bron and Big Dog being the two lead singles. The highs are great (Stay out of the ... read more

Free Throw - Bear Your Mind

I thought it was a good follow up album to their debut, definitely a little darker than their first but follows the same subject matter of heartbreak, loss, and anguish.

This album felt a little more refined than the first, and some of the riffs are infectious. This album had a couple more tracks that I feel like I'd go back to than the first, so I thought it deserved a higher score there.

Best tracks: Rinse. Repeat., Randy, I am the Liquor, Hope Spot, Weak Tables

Worst tracks: Dead ... read more
