Okay maybe I was a bit quick to jump the gun and call this a 100 album. Lowered it to 95.
Only because I have found that I did get pretty tired of this album fairly quickly. That is not to take away from how extravagant and beautifully crafted this album is.
BEST RAP ALBUM OF 2021
This new record from Amyl and the Sniffers have expanded their sound away from some of the traditional "rock" sound on their last LP, and more towards a electrifying, angsty punk on this new one. Exciting instrumentations with profound but also playful lyrics. A very enjoyable listen, and probably a good workout album.
The Tradition - 80
An ominous, and haunting, but powerful opening track about fame, as a women.
Bells in Sante fe - 75
A decent artsy pop song, with great vocals and an amazing transition into the next track.
Easier Than Lying - 75
this track has a great drum beat, accompanied by distorded bass, or downtuned guitar. The song turns into an absolute banger in the chorus and halsey has great energy performing some edgy lyrics.
Lilith - 75
Catchy hook, with a groovy drum and bass beat. The ... read more
SIR BAUDELAIRE - 80
For an intro this song sets up the world pretty nicely. Tylers voice sounds buttery smooth and he performs with confidence.
CORSO - 85
GO BUY A BOAT TYLER. YOU DESERVE IT BECAUSE OF THAT BEAT DROP ALONE. AND THEN STORE IT AT YOUR OTHER, OTHER, OTHER, CRIB. go off
LEMONHEAD - 90
That 42 Dugg Feat is insane. And I love the heavy obnoxious horns carrying the track. Yet again another insane brain blowing bass bust.
WUSYANAME - 95
What a beautiful first verse, with a flow ... read more
Trippie Redd just did the impossible, he released 17 of the same track, in different fonts.
I have been following King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard for many years now. Diving in to each of their new albums with extremely high standards, they still have yet to give me any reason to lower my standards anytime soon. With each new release it's a guessing game as to the direction the band will take next. Hardly a guessing game though, it's impossible to ever tell how they will bless our ears next. Butterfly 3000 is nothing short of another blessing to the ears.

Biggest Hippo Campus fan of all time here. Been to 3 Concerts, LOVE both of their Full length LPs, and their music has been a big part of my life for a long time.
I, of all people would probably have a bias towards the music Hippo Campus makes because of the affect they have had on my life.
But, I can without a doubt say this is some of the worse music they have ever released.
The first three tracks are good. Sounds like Hippo just trying something new, I can get down with it. Even though it ... read more
Previous rating was a 75, Then I realized I listen to this album way to much for it to not be an 80.
What a beautiful album. Runs a bit long for my taste and can feel a bit repetitive. But from what is here, it is really enjoyable. ive listened to this album since back when it came out, only just now getting to rating it on AOTY.
I like it for what it is and the obvious talent that was used to create it. And I loved the NETFLIX movie along with it.
Its just not music I would ever find myself listening to.
The PRODUCTION on the album is on another level of production. So influential to todays hip-hop.
Lil Ugly Mane is very talented in writing creative and witty bars. Are they very meaningful? are they....conscious? No
Are they creative and funny? yes
Not only is it one of the first of its kind in the genre, Its one of the best.
P.S. I CANNOT stand the dog whistle on the track Slick Rick, it makes that song unlistenable for me.
BEST HOUSE ON A BAD BLOCK is a heavy, ear crushing, and intensly distorted mix of industrial hip-hop songs that feature extremely catchy hooks and horrifying yet high quality production. You cant just stick one genre to this record. The 100 gecs, hyper-pop influence is very noticeable while remaining original and sounding new. All I can think of while listening to this is mixing Death Grips with 100 Gecs. Maybe throw some Lil Darkie in there as well, just for the hell of it.

Its got a couple of good bangers and vibes. but as a whole its definitely not nearly the best or most creative cloud rap album of this era.
There is a couple really good tracks here, but for the most part it's pretty generic and samey.
If you're here for top tier production, and a fun flow every once in a while, then you will probably enjoy more songs then not.
Unfortunately though, Migos have not moved foreword stylistically or evolved in any way. Same old, same old boring album with a few bangers here and there. A lot of the hooks leave something to be desired, and the verses feel like they really aren't saying anything at all.
