Uzu ni naru, their debut album and my third Kinokoteikoku listen. Soul crushing is what I'd like to describe this album.
I'll get straight to the point here, what i think shines the most in this album is Chiaki Sato's vocals. I thought she did an incredible job on eureka but oh my god, it's way more hopeless here and i love it. There are a plenty of fast-paced rock tracks, but also a slower, beautifully desperate and hopeless yet comforting side of the tracklist. I was ... read more
Been holding off this one but I'm back and itching for depressive music once again cus it's about that time that i need it. deathconsciousness will always be my favorite sonically, but here is just dan barrett stripping all of the noise down and none of the hurt. even as a folk album, it still sounded so fucking explosive. Bladee vocals with tuff beats?? how would that wor- oh my goodness fucking gracious 🥹
but seriously tho, it wasn't clicking in and i didn't understand how these 2 polar opposite of sound would work together at first, until it did! then i went all in max volume after the first 10 songs and I'm so fuckin cold after all of that. Really meaty release that i could come back to a lot, this is NOT bloated at all
I'm sure i've listened to this a long time ago since it got recommended to me by Granolant like a lot of other ppl did. it's a nice sparkly jpop with a really nostalgic vibe i always liked, i just wish there's more to it but it's definitely going into my cutesy playlist
Folk has always been a genre i respect more than i actually love. i admire its simplicity but that simplicity can get kinda contradictory when everything starts to blur together. thats why i appreciated how this album gives its songs distinct characteristics, even if the overall sound still felt a lil similar to my ears. its still a good impression of alex g and the genre itself once again, tho my expectations were way higher considering how beloved this artist is, like everywhere. The highs ... read more
is there any other anime composer who can pull off something that sounds this grand?? it's so unique to her, nothing scratches the itch like yuki kajiura does
