JPEGMAFIA - EXPERIMENTAL RAP
65

Maybe it was a bad idea to hop on this album after icemanπŸ’”. Some tracks could be vibes like New Era or bangers like Yen but in general it's kinda like a big bitch bosh of all of his creations before + bro step + big influence from ildmlfy but it's just tasteless for a lot of it. Didn't enjoy it that much but I mean I didn't enjoy ildmlfy that much either so I can't say it's that objectively bad, but whatever that's my opinion.

Drake - MAID OF HONOUR
17

This the age he's having fun with in the album fyi.

Btw it's impressive how he can be that sexual, yet it is stale and at parts disgusting.
It's not even a good album on casual pop standards how's that😭.
Edit: Never dare to sample my lords Masters at Work with that caca bass.

Drake - ICEMAN
48

Most of it felt like For All the Dogs 2 but more monotone, but he is ICEMAN he can do it

Edit: Went back to it cus I thought that I couldn't get it on the first listen, but apparently, coming in one ear and coming out the other is a feature of this music.

東京酒吐座 [Tokyo Shoegazer] - Remains
80

It's cute how this album nicely fits with my hollow knight playthrough (but I damn wish I could see the lyrics😭)

Damn. Antropoceno aka Lua Viana's new project (a second in her triple), No Ritmo da Terra, is not only an impressive feat on the extent of reference & purpose, adding afro-barzilian elements as an extention of a philosophy which makes up for an engaging concept, this album is texturely gorgeous, the dancing rhythms of the drums mixing with the thick ditorted guitar and the forest atmosphere that engulfs the project. They took post-rock to another level and i fucking adore it. They took ... read more

Friko - Something Worth Waiting For
72

Friko finally released their sophomore album and it seems like a mix of majestic epic arrangements that are ear candied for the kind of mines and moments that are nice on the level of an indie rock band but can almost come out the other ear if u don't hold on to it like a kite. At least the title track is dope; It's sufficient enough to make me appreciate it a bit.

Joey Valence & Brae - HYPERYOUTH (afterparty)
80

good continuation to the original album, as if they were missing pieces to the album, even if it stretches the runtime to an hour

underscores - U
84

Ok, I've been writing long reviews for short albums and short or NO reviews for long albums, wtf. I owe you one.

Let's talk about this special one. April Harper Gray famousy known as underscores finally released her 3rd album, U. It's been hyped up and rolled out and bagged in and dubed down initially with a series of 4 singles and a remix of ninajirachi's song "It's You" (Being obviously recalled to It's U remix). I've been wondering about the ... read more

Boldy James - Manhunt
70

Manhunt is once another collaboratory album from Boldy James that was...leaked a year ago and finally pulled to streaming last month, but this time, we don't have a producer, but rather a labelmate from Griselda Records, Rome Streetz. For the production side, it's a mix & match with ones like Nicholas Craven, Chuck Strangers, Denny Laflare etc. I had somewhat of a similar experience of 2 rappers on a relatively short project with drumless influence was the Spiral Staircases ... read more

Various Artists - HELP(2)
77

Didn't have getting strongly into politics on my 2026 bingo card but fuck it we playing ball. Of course I didn't think politically strong about this album, even though it's intentions we're very correct and reflective to what is needed. I liked some of these songs, surprisingly Arctic Monkeys did one of the best songs and I loved the Big Thief, Arlo Parks, Sampha, Cameron Winter etc. some songs were underwhelming like Damon Alborn's or Depeche Mode's. It just felt ... read more

Sarah Kinsley - Fleeting
69

I don't think I'll ever fully appreciate synthpop. Even this is arguably not synthpop and it's just...pop. Aside from Reverie being a cute slow interlude (the longest song in the ep), this record, as much as i can liten to it, comes in one ear, comes out the other

Gorillaz - The Mountain
69

I'm on the bus, retrying to listen to this monument for a 3rd time, trying to break through it and actually enjoy it as an album, rather than respecting it's thematical and lyrical effort because I feel that wouldn't be enough to give it a high rating. But eventually, I couldn't, I wasn't able to like this record so much because of its...synthpop elements. I think the Indian theme is very leftfield and would seem very refreshing. I wanted to see how cool it would sound ... read more

Shoutout @paul for recomending me this ep. I was trying to find it anywhere else than bandcamp and that showed how isolate this project is </3. But it makes sense somewhat since this is a slushwave/dreampunk project. in the big '26. ofc it would be hidden too underground to bloom. Another thing is that this ep in general is pretty...windy? I don't really know how to describe the simple mix of reberb with chorus. It doesn't give as much color as it gives...wind. Althought I ... read more

Joyce Manor - I Used to Go to This Bar
63

Joyce Manor give some interesting ideas in this album, but they never bloom into anything and just sound like the usual over usage of old sounds and trying to be emotional but the warm atmosphere and high energy make it up to be too positive to take it serious. Almost sounds like the Craig of the creek ost.

By Storm - My Ghosts Go Ghost
84

BY STORM (i know i know i'll mourn)

The newly formed duo of Nathaniel Ritchie aka RiTchie and William Parker Corey finally released a full-lenght album after a very long wait since they released Double Trio, their first single as By Storm. With this single and choice of naming, they showed that they will not let go the passing of Groggs, a very good friend and a past bandmate from their group Injury Reserve, anytime soon. And this is quite explicitly shown in their new album "My ... read more

Annahstasia - Tether
77

Annahstasia, a wisconsian guitarist and folk artist, released her debut album, tether and it's surprisingly yet fairly beautiful. I like the balance between sparse and somewhat thick texture presented in most songs, it reminds me of the later ichiko aoba albums mixed with the earlier ichiko aoba albums. I also adore the writing she has, you can tell she mastered it through lyrics like "There's a pile of CDs / In the corner over there / Sharing the ground / With a tree / ... read more

Maroon 5 - Love Is Like
54

This is fine. It's just fine, it fittinglyy follows what pop did a decade ago. You can call this old or out of date, but idc, Maroon 5 have been doing this since Sam Farrar came in this band. My tongue is trying to kill itslef when i say it's a band, it genuinely feels like one man can do this, especially how, as i previously mentioned, it sounds like pop a decade ago. This sound never evolved into anything, Red Pill Blues sounded like a date to Ocean Blvd, Jordi sounded like a date ... read more

Agriculture - The Spiritual Sound
75

Agriculture, a black metal band hailing from Los Angeles released their 2nd album and 4th release overall titled The Spiritual Sound and I quite like it. It's very dense, it uses a lot of composititional and arrangement ideas that I didn't expect not only black metal bands but rock bands in general to use. I love the buddhist theme that is spread throughout the album, the song "Bodhidharma" actually moved me, it's very inspirational based on the stories told of Huike ... read more

Jane Remover - β™‘
85

GODDAMN, Jane Remover released a compilation-style ep, heart, and it's incredible. I wanted those songs she released last year, especially Flash in the Pan, to go on a project at some point. She said it was, but the project got canceled because she wanted to focus on the sound of revengeseekerz. Fair point, but in defence, I personally perfer this project over revengeseekers, or well at least what we got form this project. All of the songs are great, Magic I Want U goes through may phases ... read more
