Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend
92

Where to begin... This album is a spectacular piece of art. If you're like me and it's your first introduction to Wolf Alice, you're in for a ride. Indie Rock has always been my cup of tea, but never have I connected with a record on such a deep personal level as much as Blue Weekend. There is just something particular about it that I can't really pinpoint. The album is perfectly enjoyable from start to finish. The soothing voice of Ellie Rowsell blends in flawlessly with the charming ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
98

Over the course of 6 years, this project received all the praise it rightfully deserved. So there is really no point in writing a detailed review about how great it is. Some say that because Kendrick hasn't dropped a new project since then, we can't be sure if he has proven himself or not. TPAB alone is an indicator of how great of an artist he is. The first time I listened to it, I was completely thrown off guard, in no way was I expecting such a spectacular album. 6 years later, it is still ... read more

Lil Nas X - SUN GOES DOWN
79

I am amazed by how much versatility Lil Nas X portrays in his ambitious musical journey. Sun Goes Down is stylistically very different from his previous singles. Certainly in a good way. The vocal delivery is, as usual, quite good and the production is decent as well. It's Lil Nas X's most personal and undoubtedly most emotionally fulfilling project to date. As far as first impressions go, Sun Goes Down is a very touching piece of art with a great message.

twenty one pilots - Scaled and Icy
28

I suppose I have never been a Twenty One Pilots fan, but yeah, this is terrible. The only redeemable quality of this album is the production, which still couldn't keep me from giving this a hideous score. Maybe the only song I do kinda enjoy altogether is Choker, which is ruined by the godawful singing performance in the last 40 seconds. Quite frankly, what the hell were they thinking upon creating this

twenty one pilots - Saturday
20

In comparison to their two newly-released singles Choker and Shy Away, it is an evident downgrade in quality in pretty much every aspect. Your usual generic pop song with really no admirable quality, the lyrics are insanely bad, the production is nothing special. This track offers nothing that comes even close to an enjoyable listening experience.

twenty one pilots - Choker
68

Reminds me of electronica\downtempo music from some time ago. If it wasn't for the last 40 seconds I would have given this a higher rating for sure

twenty one pilots - Shy Away

Undoubtedly a very well produced song, just not my cup of tea. Appreciate the work put into it though, hence the decent rating

Madvillain - Madvillainy
96

Man, MF DOOM was SUCH a talented rapper. Madvillainy was and still is one of the best hip-hop albums of all time. From start to finish, it is an incredible listening experience. At this point, it is almost impossible to not appreciate DOOM's flow and incredible talent. Besides, Madlib does wonders on the production of these melodically rich tracks. Together, they make an unbeatable duo, one that's at the top of their game. I have never thought before that a concept album could be THIS ... read more

Drake - Take Care
78

Classic.

Take Care is one of Drake's best projects to date. I have had mixed feelings about it for a long time, but after a couple listens some songs really grow on you quite a bit. It's nostalgic. Would it been as high rated if it came out last year? Yeah, probably not. It sort of takes you back in time, and makes you appreciate the golden era of Drake. I do enjoy most of the tracks, with only a few exceptions. It is certainly not a groundbreaking album or anything, but it's enjoyable in a ... read more

Arctic Monkeys - AM
85

Man, where to begin... AM was, to me, Arctic Monkeys at the top of their game. Don't get me wrong, I am a massive fan of their many former projects and this album is not their best work of the discography by any means either. However, it holds a very special place for me, as I have been introduced to some of my all-time favorite songs, Do I Wanna Know and R U Mine through this album. It has a project that certainly has its highs and lows, and I can't deny that I find some songs to be generic ... read more

Frank Ocean - Blonde
95

If we were to describe Blonde in one word, it would be "spectacular". Frank Ocean's follow up to his critically acclaimed Channel Orange certainly does not disappoint. In fact, I would go as far as saying that I enjoyed Blonde even more than Channel Orange, which I was a massive fan of by the way. It is an incredibly well-made album in every sense of the word, the production is high tier, the lyricism and vivid storytelling shines in every part of the listening experience, there is ... read more

Jaden - CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3
32

My thoughts after listening this album more than I would like to admit in hopes of having an enjoyable experience; Aggressively mediocre.

I had somewhat low expectations for this project, mainly due to the disappointing albums Jaden has put out so far. Safe to say, it met my expectations. There are some positive aspects to it, such as the OK production, but we'll get into that later on. The biggest problem with this project is the extremely dull and soulless vocal performances. With the ... read more
