Now this is just absurd. They did it..... again.
The metalcore quartet have released their SECOND album of the year within three months of their last effort 'Love Is Not Enough', one of my favorite records of 2026, along with my personal favorite Converge album (albeit that changes every week now). And how does this one compare?
It's just brilliant. More chaotic songs filled with emotional vulnerability that feels heavy throughout each track. The opening track 'Slip The ... read more
I tried. I went into this with an open mind as I was quite intrigued to see how this album fares. I'll preface by saying that I have never really been a "fan" of Evanescence. I think Fallen is a pretty great album but have never had any incentive to check out their other works as to be totally honest... Amy Lee's voice kind of irks me. I know. To me the belts feel waaaaay too much and honestly kind of overperforming. However some songs she sounds really good on, which is ... read more
My favorite rap album, which is crazy to say as Kendrick has the most stacked catalogue probably out of any single artist I have ever heard and because TPAB exists which is on the same level as this to me.
Such a fun EP, Ends in Tragedy and Dance fucking killed it.
The upwards trajectory and love this band has received is so amazing, goated.
Local legends in my scene. Work of art, and the nicest people you will ever meet..
"Yo, lets release a shit and generic metalcore album, then when our guitarist is revealed as a disgusting person lets make a really terrible response to the situation and then breakup." - Ballsmora probably. Fuck this band.
First time listening I thought this was so intimidating and hard to take in to the point I really disliked it. But then I tried it again... and again, and then I have ended up listening to it about 5 times now. Fantastic piece of work, but I still prefer You Fail Me and their 1st of their 2 more recent outings, Love is not Enough. Cannot wait for Hum of Hurt tomorrow!
Static Dress really have flourished into a defined sound that manages to kick ass and kick me in the teeth emotionally.
Been on a bit of a Deafheaven wave the past couple of days, so I figured its time to do a deep-discog-dive (I forgot about Roads to Judah so that will come last), and surprise, surprise, this is yet again a beautiful listen. In contrast to their previous outing, being New Bermuda, this album leans into the softer elements of their sound, which is not a bad thing at all actually! I enjoy Deafheavens dynamic shifts and their stylistic approach to music, and this album is a blend of both, ... read more
Deafheavens heaviest record to date, which is very appealing to me as their heavy parts go batshit insaneo. This is the Deafheaven album I have listened to the most, but I can't in good faith say it surpasses Sunbather because truly.. what does?
There is no flaws in the slightest with album, absolute perfection.
This album carries a frenetic, solemn energy that only masterclass acts can produce.
Hoping to see them live in the coming months.
Yeah, I see the criticisms. Are they valid? Well, yeah - the album is too long to have such short songs and the album seems more filler than killer at times, but to be honest... I love it. Practically the whole thing. It came out at the perfect time in my life and I have listened to this album around 7 times. It feels so easily accessible, even more so as a Joji fan and someone who grew up on 2016 YouTube (yikes..!)
I feel as if Joji really adapted musically in this album, creating what HE ... read more
I went into this fairly unfamiliar with Mitski, aside from knowing the hits and I left... decently surprised!
I have never really gotten into her stuff but respect her and how massive she truly is in the music sphere, so I went into this with really no expectations at all. I liked it. That's really all to it, but my only issue (hence why I gave it a fairly low score) is that no one song really stuck with me..? Maybe that's because this isn't necessarily my scene of music, but who ... read more
Periphery have released their weakest offering so far.
By no means a terrible album in the slightest, but a very underwhelming album. It seems they abandoned their complexity (time sigs wise, this albums complexity fluctuates song to song) to seem more accessible and it feels a little commercialized with the shoehorned metal segments in various songs. But, that being said some songs hit, and they can hit HARD. Subhuman featuring Will Ramos is a kick to the teeth in contrast to the prior song ... read more
