A solid collection of dancepop and EDM tracks that show Wavedash's range as a band. It has several high points and even strangely emotional bits, which make for an enjoyable listen even at its low points. Its occasional ambition for spectacle, however, falls a little short as there aren't many moments that wow me or disgust me enough to interest me past a casual listen.

Collapse List deviates little from the classic Novo Amor style, and that's the very least I come for on a record of his. Because it plays it safe, it delivers an enjoyable listen but lacks the oomph and emotional depth necessary to stand out from the rest of his discography. So although I will enjoy this album throughout every listen, it will be quickly overshadowed by previous projects such as Birthplace and Cannot ... read more

A party of wonky sound design and funky rhythm from start to finish. A largely collab-driven album, Mr. Bill brings in all kinds of artists that complement his signature style. Even with the diversity of collaborators, he manages to put out an admirably coherent project that keeps my head bopping for the whole hour. Mechanomorphic may end up a mainstay in my listening habits this year, and I'm here for it. Creative, unique, ... read more

My top albums are often my most controversial takes, and this is the poster child of that fact. After some time away from this album, I understand people's critiques and negative reactions to it. Even through the occasionally sketchy production, I find its greatest strength to be its theming. It brings together so many musical styles from all over the world courtesy of artists who would execute them better than Jacob Collier could. That ... read more
MP once again proves why his formula works! The formula being: the love, the heartbreak, the existentialism, the encouragement, the humor, the occasional collab, the lil' something different, and within all that, a whole bunch of fun EDM & dancepop. Although much of the album is subject to overplayability and it has its corny bits, this album is fully satisfying in steady doses.

Preface: I understand that this is essentially a compilation of unreleased/unfinished tracks to send Sharks off as he goes on an indefinite hiatus for his mental health. I also understand he feels like he let his fans down.
Sooo this album is quite good for what it is! Not a letdown in the slightest, nor was his career. I love Sharks' style, and this is pretty run-of-the-mill Sharks, with some really unique deviations sprinkled in. There are only a handful of tracks I'll remember or replay in ... read more

Ethan Bortnick dazzles with this journey of an EP. This is a wild and beautiful mixture of his immense talent as a pianist and his melodramatic style as an artist. It combines much of what I love about my favorite projects: e.g. a solid theme, a well-told redemptive story, creative songwriting, and effective emotional appeal. When the entire EP has a lot of replay value as a whole, not just each track ... read more

I have a pretty harsh take on Ariana Grande: that she is an exceedingly phenomenal vocalist who wastes her talents on her own music. But I always try to go into an album with an open mind, especially with popular artists. This album opened my mind to how sonically pleasing her musicality can be, although her songwriting often ... read more
