It's hard to rate these tracks individually because most of them are really just short sketches rather than fully developed songs. Some contain genuinely interesting melodies, textures, and ideas that I could easily imagine being expanded further if Steve had the time and inclination. Recorded largely by Steve Kilbey alone in his bedroom studio, it has a DIY quality that gives it much of its charm. The drum machines are simple but effective, and the production is sparse yet layered.
