matt champion surprised the hell out of me with this album. happy that he, largely, decided to divert from his 'normal' rapping style for a more melodic album. it works out so well in my eyes and he put together an amazing body of work here. will absolutely be revisiting this quite a bit as the year goes on. bravo, matt!
is this album doing anything out of the ordinary? absolutely not. but it doesn't need to! with excellent vocal performances, well-written tracks, and an album that doesn't conform to one, dull sound - it accomplishes a lot in my eyes. a very strong pop record with quite a few tracks i plan to revisit including every second, give a little less, and miss those days. i will definitely be on the lookout for more of mina's work in the future!
