John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
15

I clearly don't "get it".

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
77

This is undoubtedly Biilie's most mature album to date. It showcases her incredible vocals in a way no previous album of hers has and Finneas is still kicking ass with its production. Billie embarks on exploring sounds in a way she has not done in previous albums creating a very fresh sound. Though the album struggles to stay cohesive in places, it is a solid addition to her discography.

Jack White - No Name
90

What a brilliant album. It's raw, messy, and exactly what we needed.

Pom Poko - Champion
75

Another brilliant album from the Norwegian quartet. Very varied, from the chillness of Growing Story to the wild mayhem of Big Life. This is a great album.

The Raconteurs - Help Us Stranger
70

This is generally a very good album. The production is fantastic if let down by some of the aspects of the songwriting. Overall however, this is a decent addition to the band’s discography - even if I prefer the earlier albums.

Stand-out songs:
Bored and Razed
Thoughts and Prayers

Queen - Jazz
80

It's a brilliant album from a brilliant band. I have no clue what Rolling Stone was talking about in 1979. Freddie's vocals are incredible, the guitar parts are iconic and overall the instrumentation is spot on. Unfortunately, it is somewhat let down by Roger's songs but it still stands as a great album.

GUM - Ill Times
85

Damn, this album just brings something special. I could not stop bopping my head and pulling a stank face for the entire album. Definitely worth a listen and I look forward to future collaborations between these two artists.

Chromes - The Good Life / Imaginary World
50

Very generic. There is possibly something to work from here but it just sounds like the mediocre music that Muse has been releasing for the last decade.

Bill Ryder-Jones - Iechyd Da
75

It's a very precious and thought-provoking album. Small, intimate and yet grandiose - I know that's a contradiction but that's just how it feels.

Dirty Sound Magnet - Western Lies
82

A surprisingly solid album for what was and is such a small band. Incredible musicianship and their playing on dynamics expertly creates and releases tension. Definitely worth a listen.

Revis - Places for Breathing
69

Some decent music but it is just all too samey. After a few songs, it all just blurs together.

Billy Joel - Streetlife Serenade
75

Great album that is massively underrated. Sure, it's not on par with the likes of The Stranger or Piano Man but it's an amazing album in it's own right.

The Claypool Lennon Delirium - South of Reality
74

I have quite a lot of mixed opinions about this album. Some songs are fantastic and well-written, but some didn’t quite click for me. Overall, it was a good listen though.

Top songs:
Blood and Rockets
Amethyst Realm

Chelsea Wolfe - She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She
83

This is a brilliant album from beginning to end.

Stand-out tracks:
Whispers in the Echo Chamber
Tunnel Lights
Dusk

Billy Joel - Turn the Lights Back On
5

Absolute generic garbage that sounds like it was written in an afternoon immediately after listening to an Elton John album

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - The Silver Cord
70

There is some brilliant music on here, though I can understand why it is not to everyone's taste. That said, the standard versions seem too short and the extended versions are frequently too long. There is definitely a middle ground somewhere.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation
95

One of the best metal albums to come out of the 21st century and a perfect introduction to metal for any wanna-be metal-head.

The Last Dinner Party - Prelude to Ecstasy
80

A fantastic debut album that clearly shows the range and talent of this fairly new band. They create interesting, unique music which makes me excited to hear what else they have to offer in the future.

Stand-out songs:
Caesar on the TV Screen
My Lady of Mercy
Beautiful Boy

Dave Lombardo - Rites of Percussion
59

Dave Lombardo is an incredible drummer, and this album is very much a show of his virtuosity, but there just isn't enough depth to explore. It's clearly a labour of love but I wouldn't go back to it nor would I recommend anyone listen to it.

U2 - Achtung Baby
65

Nothing in this album stands out as either particularly good or bad.

On CheeseFruit's review of Rush - Signals
"The 1980s was the beginning of the end for prog rock. Record labels were just not pushing the music, I think bands like Rush has to adjust their sound to try and survive. I mean, look at the trajectory of other prog bands like Yes, ELP and King Crimson. All of them see a dive in ratings on AOTY in the 1980s."
