I’m a bit bias towards this one because I’m going through depression and bedridden now. These tagline lyrics and punchy Afrobeats can at least make me feel a little better. How do Africans do this? These wisdom lines and short bursts of happiness, simple yet so deep and powerful. They feel like they have infinite energy flowing through them, in clear contrast to this lifeless world. I have a soft spot for these Coffee Lesbian Soft Indie Pops, they always bring the mood when I'm chilling in the bedroom being sad horny. This album, although not as good as the likes of Clairo, is a sign of Shura growing up. It is always great to see an artist growing to their full potential. I think her next one will be THE ONE, built on all the cloudy, foamy textures that this album brings.
This one is growing on me a lot faster, blame the punchy beats and energy on here which serves greatly as a B side album to last year’s album of life. But I think she is just gonna go mainstream if she goes down this road, and become the Taylor swift of the sad autistic peculiar queers.
